I'm getting a hum, with the stock tubes. I have it connected to my Odac.

ThujanIf you are using it as a headphone amp, plug in your headphones, zero volume and wait 10-15 minutes before you give it a signal and bring up the volume. If you are using it as a preamp, turn on your signal source , DAC, and the DV. Wait 10-15 minutes before you turn the main amp on. If you still have hum it is most likely tubes. Getting good NOS tubes is not always easy, but highly recommended.

GugliermoSo I connected my darkvoice straight to my phone using an rca to 3.5mm cord. I get no hum. I only get a hum when I have a dac connected though rca cables. Despite working in a different location.

ThujanWhat do you have feeding the dac? Change out the cable between dac and DV and see if it's still humming. You may have a ground loop in the source machine feeding your dac. It is not the tubes with your described results with the phone. What do you mean by "working in a different location?"

ThujanThe hum is a known problem with this amp and new tubes (didn't have it with the stock tubes though). Give the tubes, especially the 6SN7, some time to burn in and the hum should disappear. Like, unplug the 6AS7, and let the DV on power for 48h. There's also a mod to permanently bring an end to this problem.

ZoZoI think it may be a ground loop. If I route the 3.5mm jack behind my monitors and to my computer I get a hum. If I connect it to my o2/odac via rca I get a hum. But if I connect it directly to my phone not behind my monitor. I get no hum.

ThujanThis is probably because the gain from your phone is way lower than those other sources, so theres less everything (including noise) to hear. But yeah, ground loop could be a thing too.
Update: Looked around, you will want to burn in that pretube.
