My DV is quite unique in the sense that the volume knob doesn't work as a volume instead it works as a headphone channel balance. From minimum volume i can hear only the right side of the headphone and it gets louder at 12oclock position. Then from 2 to 4oclock position, the left channel comes in and balances the headphoone. Therefore, my volume is controlled from my phone. It's no big issue but i'd imagine people's DV has a normal volume control like it should be right? Apart from that, the DV has a wonderful sound to it and I'm enjoying tube rolling.

Ideally you want the volume all the way up at the first source, and then max it at each stage leading up to the final output. So in this case you'd want to max the volume on your phone and then control the level you want with the amp. I'd consider this a pretty significant issue you want fixed, especially while it's under warranty.

If you are using a high gain amp with low impedance/sensitive headphones then it can cause the channel imbalance at lower volumes. This could be why it seems like the volume nob is channel control.

It does the channel control even when paired to a 300 & 600 ohm headphone. Super weird right!

I know I'm a bit late to the party here, but my darkvoice has the exact same issue, word for word. I was wondering if you ever got it fixed and if so how?

Nope, issue still going on. Can't be bothered with a fix and just going to live with it. I think we might be the odd one that are unlucky.
