Awesome product, I got mine from the last drop, but my Darkvoice is not dead silent, there's a static sound signal all over the two channels, I know is brand new, but it makes me wonder what wrong with it. Has anyone experience something like it?
I have found this tube amp to be the worst I have experienced when it comes to finding tubes that work without issue; don't know if it's just bad luck on my part or not. Just saying; it could be the tube/tubes your unit has. I say try to buy some cheap tubes and roll to see if it goes away. The only two tubes I have gotten without any hum/static is a cheap russian 6sn7 tung sol top-getter (silver top) and a 6as7 USA raytheon.
I got no hum from the stock tube or NOS RCA tube. I did get hum from a new production Tung Sol 6SN7 tube that went out with the 72 hour burn in trick. I did deal with some AC hum and "static" but found it to be intermittent, suggesting it was from my outlet. I bought a Furman SS 6B power strip and now it is dead silent.
I wanna wait until the tubes madure a bit to change them, how much did you spend on the combo you bought?
I don't know why I got the same feeling with my unit, I wanna wait a bit to change the tubes, if it's not tube related, I would change the power strip, I love the amp, but that sound is ruining the whole experience.
