Just purchased this unit. I am scouring the forums trying to understand which tubes these should be rolled with and I understand that its all preference. My question is I see there are two different size tubes on the unit. What does that mean in terms of how I purchase my tubes? Is there a specific size number for both of those tubes?

tymarYou want to look for the same type or equivalent tubes. The Darvoice 336se uses 6as7 as the power tube (the tall one) and 6sn7 for the pre amp ( the smaller one).

tymarAnd to add to Kietly’s answer - the smaller tubes, the driver tubes, have a bigger influence on the sound / saturation, than the power tubes.

KietlyYou can also use the equivalents...6SN7/6N8P/5692/CV1988 for the preamp tube (the small one) and 6H13/6AS7/6080 for the power tube (the big one). Because of plate voltage variances, it may be best to stick to 6SN7 and 6N8P for the preamp and 6H13/6AS7 for the power tube. The pre-amp tube makes the biggest difference.
