Left-Channel Hum I just got my DV336 last Friday and preemptively bought two upgrade tubes to replace the stock Chinese 6H8C that comes with it. Tung-Sol and Sovtek from Amazon. The Tung-Sol 6SN7GTB had audible, 60Hz, left-channel hum from the start, which was expected so I proceeded to "burn in" for ~80 hours. The hum has decreased a little but it has definitely not gone away and has plateaued, which is concerning. You can easily hear the hum without no music playing. I also just got the Sovtek 6SN7GT and the hum is pretty much unbearable with headphones. I haven't done any burn in with it yet, but man is it loud. The stock tubes work fine, no hum or static at all. Did I buy defective replacement tubes? Is something wrong with my amp? My setup is Macbook -> Schiit Modi 3+ -> Darkvoice 336 -> Sennheiser 6xx

DesyncCould be electrical interference, at my appt my tubes are only usable with headphones but at my parents house I could even use IEM'S on them, but it could be that those tubes have some kind of issue/are more sensitive
DesyncOther comments are saying it could take a week to burn in
quicklytoo4Tends to take about 24-48 hours to burn in. Take out the power tube, turn on the unit with just the pre tube, and let it burn. Alternatively there's an entire cottage industry of modding the DV. The "Fitz Mod," which is just soldering two capacitors in, removes the hum and need for burn-in.

DesyncI just wanted to let you know that I'm using a 1940s Tung-Sol 322MA3 (6SN7) and a 1980s Sovtek (6AS7) and mine are dead silent. So there is hope! My setup is MacBook Pro -> JDS Labs EL DAC -> JDS Labs EL AMP -> Darkvoice 336 -> HD660S and HD800S. I have three of the same Sovtek tubes if you need one. Also, the only tubes I ever got hum from were Raytheon and Channel Master 6SN7s and it took some burn in for the hum to go away on those.
