TUNG-SOL 6SN7GTB Hi Everyone, I'm on the 96th hour and still hum in left ear. Will it ever go away? What should I do? Thinking of going back to the stock 6SN7. Are there other tubes that don't hum when you first get them that are upgrades?

rjleyJust remove the power tube and let it burn in for around a week straight, the hum should be gone to an inaudible level then. Had the same issue with the same tube.

DesyncYeaaah.. was also quite disappointed at first, but some 6sn7 tubes are veeery sensitive to the heater voltage they are getting, plus there isnalways some leftover gas and particles inside the tube, which you have to burn..

SyphyMight be worth just getting NOS 6SN7 tubes, since I'm pretty sure old manufacturers would burn them in before selling.

SyphyFactory new, but I'm pretty sure I read that part of the "manufacture" involved burning in to get rid of or reduce hum

mcknig.kI read somewhere on the internet that the DV is designed for European power supplies. Used in N America the DV produces the hum in the main. My DV in UK sounds fine with no hum.

SweetwilliamI read that somewhere too. My DV on 240v power supply didn't have any hum with stock tubes. But on the Tung Sol 6SN7GTB it hums really bad on the right channel.
