"Due to the shipment delays we are already seeing, it is starting to look more probable that we will not be able to get the second shipment to Shenzen before the Chinese new year holiday starts. And if that’s the case, our shipment will be essentially stuck until the holidays is over in China, second week of February."
not the greatest news

coolhandWhile I hate delays as much as anyone I believe the 24th is when they were supposed to ship all of the units to MD which they still are doing. I think shipping part of them now is actually an attempt to get what they have built here early. While I'm not sure how many they shipped in the first batch but hopefully you will be in the first group. The Chinese New Year is something my friends have been bit by even in huge companies. It is amazing how much the increase happens just before it. One company can pay millions of dollars to get a tons of parts done and then anyone who needs those parts will not be able to get them until more can be made or manufacturing space is opened back up. Also a big company can buy all the shipping services availability and no one came move anything, even a few units.
While I'm not happy about delays I am SO glad that MD has started providing more and more info about products shipments and information. Especially the warning in this case ahead of time. I would rather hear now rather than on the 24th.
I'm grateful for MD shipping them in two shipments as I was the first backer. These are hand assembled (I'm pretty sure) so it makes sense that it would take some time to make them. No use in delaying those that are finished (other than shipping costs). If I remember right the first page said it would take at least 14 days to get it to MD distribution so even in the best case it certainly was going to take some time. Either way I understand being frustrated
