The amp is still producing a hum, predominantly in the left channel, after about 15 hours. Has anyone else had this issue and/ or can advise how long it will go on ?

Martintprobably just some gas in the driver tube, it is quite the normal behavior for some NOS tubes. Follow this guide for proper tube conditioning : http://goo.gl/CCt9BT
It's a great guide and I encourage everyone who owns a tube amp to read it thoroughly.

MartintI did the fitz hum-mod for the 336SE on the headfi and used 220uf high quality caps and the noise is gone. Gain is slightly higher which doesn't really matter since the pot is nice and smooth. Now I can switch out tubs all day and not spend days buring them in. I was trying to A/B different tubes and I wasn't going to wait days for each tube to do it since I have like 20 tubes.

MAKE SURE YOU DRAIN THE CAPS FIRST BEFORE SOLDERING!!!
