2% distortion at 1 watt? Trash.
PS87, they're just being actually honest. Also, with tubes, the signature sound they give you IS distortion. It's low-level even and odd order harmonic distortion. If you play a 2,000 Hz tone, a tube amp will reproduce that, but also add a 4,000 Hz tone, an 8,000 Hz tone, and so on and so forth, dropping in dB as you get farther away from the original tone. It's a nice effect. Remember, kids, analog distortion can be nice, like hitting a big, soft pillow, things slow down and get warm and comfy. It's digital distortion that's like hitting a wall made of razor wire and landmines.
