Meh. These are on sale very frequently for $14.99 or less per pair. Not sure how this is a good deal for two

As I mention before, i wanted to buy 6 pack.. 3 for me and 3 for my girlfriend, so any way free shipping is working for me.
And i can choose the colors

No matter whether you get the deal at Massdrop, or Backcountry Edge, the deal is basically the same, and a good value, at a fair price.
Colors not really important to me, as most of the time you can't see the sock any way.
So unless you are wearing shorts, and even then you can only see the top of the sock that extends above your boots, colors not a big deal, as the hiker trash, bears, raccoons, squirrels, and the deer that you might encounter on a hike won't judge you on your fashion sense, or color selection.
The bottom line is, how does the sock perform, no matter what the color?

These can be purchased at REI for $15 / pair. Two pair at $36 is not a deal. What gives?

PamcakesNope. Maybe you're looking at the wrong socks, but these are $24 at REI, which corresponds to the $48 MAP price. Even with a 20% off sale coupon, that's ain't $15 / pair.

Still too high a price, even with the “discount”. If this was a 3-pack, I might buy, but for this amount? Forget it.

industerYeah, this drop's timing is poor given all the Labor Day sales. However, if you want a full selection of color and size choices, this drop still adds value.

Wish the mens also came in some of the women colors. Like blue? Men kind of wear blue a lot.
But mostly I want to be sure my socks do not get confused with my housemate's.

Pretty good deal. I bought two pairs of these last month for $24.95 a pair on Amazon.
Buying Darn Tough socks was the worst decision I ever had last year. And I mean that because it lead me down the path of throwing out all of my regular socks and replacing them with DT socks.

JennywooshIt may have been another of the Darn Tough socks as the boot socks are usually right around this price when they have them here. But there are other styles which are less $. The Boot socks are taller and fully cushioned and thus always costly... but GREAT socks!

causticbecause most people are under the mindset that everyday essentials like underwear and socks should be a cheap as possible. Literally everyone I know scoffs at the notion of paying 15-20 for a pair of socks when you can get a 10 pack of Hanes for 15 bucks.
