The cable is short and quite stiff. I knew it was going to be short, but it is a little to stiff for my taster. The idea was to use it with a small DAC/AMP and a mobile, and that would have worked great of the cable was a little more flexible
When I first pulled the cable out of the package, I realized I had missed a critical detail.. the length. This baby seems really short. Or maybe it is the super duper slenderness. I am not a fan of these rubbery like cables that tend to have a mind of its own.
The cable I received was also a bouncy, rubbery little thing.. it constantly sprung itself free. After working with it for a short while, I realized that I was spending a considerable amount of time trying to deal with a basic audio cable. I tossed it over in my unused bin in hopes that I would have more patience one day in the future.
This is a great idea for a cable and the quality of the cable is also great, but it's just not the best execution.
The good:
1. The connectors look SO NICE.
2. The mmcx connection is very firm and feels great.
3. The fit and finish of everything is top notch.
The bad:
1. The cable us too stiff.
2. The cable is too rubbery.
3. The cable holds it's spooled up shape, making it unwieldy.
4. Microfonics (sounds of the cable moving around) are kind of bad.
Also a small issue, left and right are not labeled, so you have to figure that out in your own. Not a big deal (at least to me) but worth mentioning.
The reason this cable doesn't work for me is because I got it to use with my phone in my shirt pocket while doing chores (minimal cable to get in the way). To do this it has to make an S-curve and the stiff rubbery cable just doesn't handle that well. If you intend to just let a btr5 hang from the cable then it will probably work well enough, but it sadly does not fit my use case.
