As a replacement for the Apple camera cable this is brilliant, provided it works. Might be worth 25 bucks to see

evandschultzI’ve been scouring the net for a list of compatible devices and it sounds like it’ll work with most dedicated usb DACs. There is a disclaimer that it won’t work with audio players with a DAC mode. I’ll be testing it with Qudelix 5K (reported to be working).

pfunknutAgain. The device connected to the iOS device is what matters. Cables like that will work for FiiO and Hidiz devices but may not work with devices that require the Apple Camera Connection kit or the Apple lightning to USB C adapter. So what dac/amp are you using?

Vijay_MathewsI went a different route and got an OTG lightning to USB-C cable instead. The cable is straight lightning to usb-c and works great with the Qudelix 5K - they have a short one and a long one.

KismetskySo you mean to say that a lightening to usb c cable does the job instead of this adapter?

Vijay_MathewsThe OTG one does - it has the proper chip built in to allow usb dacs to interface: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08VH58HS9/

KismetskyNow I got it.. it's not that every lightening to usb c otg cable works as a connection between a usb dac amp and IPhone, only those lightening to usb c cables with MFi certification (made for iPhone) work.. the same is written on the link you just posted.. thanks for the link and the info.. 😊👍🏻

evandschultzIt seems that there's no cable out there that can work as a replacement for the Apple camera cable for some reason. Even the ones touting MFI certification and ability for data transfer aren't guaranteed to, like this one which I know doesn't work where a camera adapter will: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B095NDB7Y5. Even Apple's own USB cable (the regular one, not the camera adapter) won't connect to a Creative SXFI Amp device; if you know whether this adapter (or another one) would that'd be great to know! Some cable listings list known incompatible devices which include some USB DACs (e.g., https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08WQ1LY5D/). It'd be a good idea to clarify compatibility here as well as people might interested in it for that purpose.

dwane5What does, the SXFI Amp through this adapter? If so that's great to hear, and thanks for letting me know! Though I don't think that's the case. From looking at a few posts online it seems what might be determining whether or not it works is the power draw allowed by the iPhone through each kind of cable (camera adapter vs regular cable). If this is the reason why some devices are compatible and others aren't maybe listing the max power draw allowed through the adapter would help make it easier for people to determine whether or not what they're thinking about plugging through it would work or not.
