Just an observation. Think about all those usbc to 3.5 produced, makes me think why the hell the IDIOTS removed it in the first place?? 🀣🀣🀣🀣 Same goes for battery-change. Mark my words, that will happen too, both the return of 3.5mm and changeable battery.😎😎

kawmicThe user-changeable battery went away as the demand for waterproofed devices increased. And one could make a point for planned obsolescence, though I think all can be replaced when they're dead. Why the 3.5 port was removed is beyond me.

chichazOfc it's replaceable but, significantly harder to replace. The thing that bugs me is, the companies listens way too much what ppl say. I mean, why can't ppl see it as the complex electronics a phone is, and treat it accordingly, and not throw it in something wet?? Eg. toilet and at the beach! 🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣😎😎 In other words, that's the morons the companies listen too. 🀣🀣 Btw. i'm totally with you regarding the headphone - port. 😎😎 Lastly, i guess you heard the sad news regarding Edward van Halen. πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯😎

kawmicYep, we listened to "And the Cradle Will Rock" and all of Van Halen 1 last night. I like the waterproofing. I mean, everyone's dropped a phone in some sort of water at some point, no? But they did not need to remove the 1/8" jack to make it waterproof. I blame Apple for pushing for the 'portless' device. Then some other blind sheep companies simply followed that move. Those are the morons if you ask me. :)

kawmicIt's cheaper to not include the port. Few cents but think economy of scale. The non-replaceable battery means that most people will just get a new phone once the battery goes bad. So a phone will last 2-5 years. The cell phone carriers push a new phone on you every 2 years with a contract. It's all about money, not providing you a better product.

kawmicyou can blame Tim Apple for the elimination of the 3.5mm jack. He sees his job as how to make a dollar out of 90 cents. Think different, you know.

kawmicIt should be, but my post was answering the question of why they removed the audio port. Sorry I don't frequent the threads here, so I'm gonna necro this.
