So is this actually a DAC? Been needing one for awhile now. Seems pretty cheap, but it looks good and is small. If anyone has any better recommendations for a portable DAC for my iPhone that are less than $100 I’m all eyes
BrakeRewisThis is a solid company. I've used some of their other stuff. Very clever design.
That said, if you are after a DAC for less than $100... You may want to consider the Shanling UP4 for $100. The FiiO BTR5 for $120. Those are going to be really good DAC+amp combos. They are also wireless and work on computers too over USB. Of course that means they need to be charged. So it's a completely different ballgame. I don't think you need to spend $100 otherwise.
tom_mThanks for the info. It would be specifically for my car play or on the go, as I have a great dac/amp setup on my desktop. But I have a 3.5” cable in my car for plugging in
tom_mBest USB C Dongle I've come across is the Tempotec Sonata HD Pro. The non pro version is also good, but the Pro is fantastic, both subjectively and objectively (it measures extremely well). They are 40 dollars on Aliexpress from the tempotec official store and I got mine in 2 weeks. Only weak point may be the cable, but you can get a DD TC03 cable for it for ten dollars, or buy a whole backup Sonata HD Pro and have another cable.
