1000m but it doesnt seem to be able to handle a 1.2m Swimming pool. Water vapour has started to build up in the case.

ReverendOlafNot that you asked, but it's a great watch. Looks amazing; gets compliments; and feels wonderful. It has a nice heft to it, but still has nice details. Easily comparable to a $400-500 watch (and significantly better than just about any watch under $200). Lastly it wears well (both in terms of on the wrist and looks as good as new despite treating like a tool watch).
The only bad news: mine runs about 8 seconds a day slow. It's my only slow watch for whatever that means. Not a deal breaker, and YMMV.

My watch came in today and I love it. First Deep Blue purchase and don't regret it one bit. The blue face is beautiful on this.

Some great Drops recently-Deep Blue, Victorinox, Seiko, Spinnaker-but just bought the Glycine Sub (two), and the Orient Diver. Gotta start passing!
Someone please tell me the Orient Diver is a better value than this one to make me feel better.

watchkookI don't think one is better than the other. They are both great watches. The Orient has the advantage of being an entirely in house watch (including movement) while the DB is a parts catalogue watch. Both are great and you can't go wrong with either one. The Orient was priced really well also, so be glad you jumped on it and wear it with a smile knowing you got a great watch at a good price.

This is a great watch and a decent price. I have the "Sea Diver", essentially the same watch with a mat blue dial vs the sunray dials of the Sun Divers. Mine is one of the originals with the Myota movement. It is a well built and rugged watch that will not disappoint. I believe it is a 46mm not 45 as stated, however, it does wear smaller than 46 so don't let the size scare you. I paid about the same for mine a couple of years ago from Evine. If you love the Oris divers but don't want to pay around $1,500, this is a great alternative. Luke is nice and bright and lasts a long time.

Generally speaking they're both very similar quality and reliability wise. Both offer different levels of movement quality so you'd have to be more specific as to which movements are comparing.
Usually watches at this level and price point use miyota (owned by citizen watch co) 82xx series or Seiko nh branded movements. You'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between the two from a user/wearer standpoint when comparable movements from each brand are put head to head. If we're talking about one of miyota's slightly higher end 90xx series movts (like a 9015) then you'd have to compare something like seiko's nh movement equivalent to a 6r15 (I believe its ne15a) which is found in watches like the sumo, however in this case you would notice a difference between them since the miyota movts in this range have a higher bph and as a result of this, have a much smoother seconds hand. Again, quality wise they're both great and in my opinion unless you're a collector, you're not going to notice or be affected by choosing one movement over the other.
To throw in my two cents, my experience with Seiko movements has shown them to be slightly more accurate than miyota. However every batch of movements can deviate from the previous batches so I'm sure there are other collectors out there with the opposite experience. Seiko just seems to do a better job regulating them before they leave the factory. At the end of the day we're talking + or - a few seconds every 24 hours so the average watch wearer would think I'm crazy for even noticing.

jtstavThanks for giving that info, I agree 100%. The Myota I have in my Deep Blue is the 8215 IIRC. This movement and the Seiko used here are about equal in quality and reliability. Both are robust and reliable movements and you can't go wrong with either one. I will say again this is a great watch for the money and I think you will get years of wearing enjoyment out of it.

I suggest you also watch the sales on the Deep Blue website. I have two Deep Blue watches and am not currently shopping for another, but Deep Blue did have some excellent discounts on their site. Cheers, and happy watch hunting.
