Really great knife here

Sadly mine was lost in the mail and I was refunded but was able to find one on the secondary market. I like everything about the Defcon Agent and will be looking at purchasing more from Defcon in the future.

I like it

Its a bigger knife, good for folks with bigger hands. The shape of the handle fits my hand well too. There is a nice heft to the whole knife as well. The purple part of the handle has a shine to it I wasn't expecting, but I am totally okay with it. The blade is very sharp, and I really like the shape of it too. I appreciate how quick and smooth the blade comes out when I flip it out with the stud and how it becomes a nice little guard too.

I'm really impressed with this knife. Maybe the sharpest blade out of box I've ever seen.

Impressed by the materials for the price. There is a slight grinding when you open and close the blade. Not sure what's up with that, but overall I'm really happy with this knife.

Excellent for the price

Overall, this knife has the materials, build quality and design of the best American companies, with even some extra niceties, but for less than half the price. The most direct competitor in terms of design and materials would be Zero Tolerance. This is a big, beefy knife with an almost full flat grind and from the factory is wicked sharp. I also love the shiny brushed finish. Despite the size, it's not overly heavy due to aggressive internal milling. The most important positive is that the action is perfectly tuned. It deploys with ease- much less effort than any ZT I own and there is very little chance of accidentally putting pressure on the lockbar. Speaking of the lockbar, it has a steel interface and they incorporated a clever hidden overtravel stop tab into it, an elegant solution. The machining and contouring of the titanium handle is impressive and the overall design fits my hand perfectly in both saber and reverse grips. The carbon fiber adds a perfect level of tactile friction. The version I bought was in natural titanium so I had no anodization issues. The milled clip, while not being deep carry, goes in and out of the pocket with ease, offers good retention, and looks stylish if not subtle. Cons/neutral: there is only one actual flaw in the design of this knife and that is that the blade tip is too close to the edge of the scales. I haven't had an issue in practice but in theory the meat of your finger could get poked slightly on the closed knife. Otherwise, my only other neutral design choices are the glassbreaker spacer pomell and the tanto style blade. There is nothing wrong with either, just my opinion that the pomell is a bit heavy, pokey, and sticks out a bit too far adding to the handle length. That being said, I'd be glad to have it if I needed it. The tanto is subtle and doesn't effect cutting performance, but I expect to round it out upon sharpening and would have preferred a more classic curved belly, mainly for aesthetic purposes. For $109, this knife is a steal and I would expect any would be knife connoisseur to be impressed, at least with the non-anno version.

Solid Blade, Poor Finish

Out of the box, the blade is very sharp. Build quality is solid, with a bit of squeak from the hinge. When I opened the box, the entire knife seemed to be coated in some sort of grease or lubricant. the biggest issue is the finish. I ordered a purple knife. I expected purple. What I got was some sort of shiny pink monstrosity. Extremely disappointed in the finish, it looks nothing like the photos.

Finish Issues Detract From Solid Build Quality

I just received this knife today, and it arrived nicely packaged and was very sharp right out of the box. Ergos feel good and the action is nice and smooth with no blade play. My issues, however, are with the finish. As shown in the attached photos, this knife is not purple - it’s more of a pink, with a few discolored areas (the biggest of which is on the pocket clip side) that look bronze for some reason. I also have my doubts about the legitimacy of the “carbon fiber” in the handle - I have several knives in my collection with titanium & carbon fiber handles, and the differences are huge when you compare them side by side. That said, those other knives cost quite a bit more than this one did! For the money, this wasn’t a terrible buy.
