Still waiting for mine to arrive from previous drop. Yep...I’ve become one of ‘those’. 😏

I found prices from $60.00 to well over $100.00. I spent about 10 minutes sifting thru google returns. There was nothing cheaper. The only fixed blade that I am considering is the Bradford Guardian. If it was offered at this price, I would buy two.

14themoneyOh man, Bradford all the way. Not even close. I have a Guardian and the workmanship is fantastic. It's a beautiful, functional blade. Worth every penny more than you'd spend on a Defcon. In fact, if you wait, Drop will probably have a Guardian on sale.
Wow that's a chubby bunny! This thing weighs almost as much as an Esee 6 but the blade is 2.5 inches shorter. What's the blade stock, 7mm?

frankw1029I'm not questioning the sharpness of the edge here, I'm saying about the geometry between the blade thickness and the height of the grind. Paper is easy, as long as your edge is sharp the paper moves itself out of the way... It's about whether the blade wedges cutting through stiffer material. Cardboard boxes are the easiest and most common example. With equally keen edges, a thinner blade will push right through with relative ease. A thick blade will start to bind when the part you've already cut starts pinching against the thick spine, and you have to push harder to spread that open for the edge to make contact and continue the cut.
