Never heard of exhaust/header wraps so I read/found this article I thought others might want to read. http://www.centuryperformance.com/exhaust-header-heat-wraps-do-not-use.html

spthompGood to know. Maybe this stuff is better suited for insulating air intake tubing instead.

Anywho, exhaust wraps are good for high power applications like boost for example. It keeps the exhaust insulated so the gases flow faster and keeps the temps under the hood down. One downside though is that the extracters/dump pipe will rust quicker depending on what type of metal has been used.

spthompNot sure about cars, but they're great for preventing rust on bike exhaust.
