I have one and I will say of all the oversized insano waterproof cases headphones have come with, this one is probably the nicest. Also the foam stand is kinda genius. I used it this weekend and it even has room to store an M11 Plus Vertically in the hole.
As much as I like these, for my expensive headphones I just kept the boxes which were essentially giant padded enclosures anyway, and I’d never travel with them.
SquirrelPorridgeDefinitely! The idea was birthed from our travels to trade shows. We didn't really have a good way to transport our more expensive headphones.

I am on the fence, you can buy the cubed foam variant, and make your own pocket (which would probably be chinzy), not ready to drop $139 now, but maybe going a different route later. You can also buy high density foam and have a domed cutout and place the insert in a case after buying the eggshell foam - This would be nice, cut some nice lines.
This SKB is a nice solution though
MechEngTo each their own. Nothing wrong with getting the cubed variant. A main point of design for us was adding in the omega headphone stand. We travel to trade shows with our expensive headphones. Instead of packing separate headphone stands we now have an all in one package. Nothing worse than letting your expensive headphones get scratched by laying them down on the table.
MechEngWhen we were prototyping the Headphone Hero we bought a bunch of different cases, even this specific Apache case. We decided to work with SKB because it was a of higher quality and the 3i series of cases have passed rigorous military testing(MIL-STD 810G) to prove its protection. We are now confident when we ship a pallet of headphones to Can Jam that they will be protected from water, dust and pallet stacking.
PushFaderCashCheckYes, it is a very nice implementation. It is hard to find something for headphones, if at all. I understand Apache is no match for quality. I am really a big fan of Nanuk cases, I have used them quite frequently for production product. SKB, Pelican, Nanuk, all very nice. The one thing the SKB has over the Nanuk 915 or equivalent model is the steel reinforced locks. Also having already cut high density foam. Only problem is I really have no need for a hard case right now and unfortunately this does not appear to be a stocked item from Dekoni or SKB. Therefore I am looking at alternatives for later. If I was to make one, I would use a Nanuk 915 (all Mil-spec certified) with eggshell insert top layer and than add my own high density foam and cut to size. Once again I understand HF Apache is not on the same level as SKB, it was not intended to be, but it is also 30-50$, but I gaurantee for the purposes you mentioned using an Apache would holds it's own.
