Disgusting looking rubber braid, 5N Silver plated copper (nothing special), short cable length, cheap looking headphone terminations. Why would anyone buy this? Especially for the price? Glad to see none of the feedback from last time was addressed lmao. Do yourself a favor and buy a high end cable of any length from audiophileninja.

Consider that the (currently $1,400) HD 800S comes with two 3 meter cables -- 1/4" and 4.4mm. So, for $300 more than the 8XX's $1,100 price you get a "better" Sennheiser model plus two quality cables. Drop would apparently sell each Sennheiser cable for $200 or more. Why would anyone choose the 8XX plus this cable instead of the 800S and then (possibly) sell both to fund a Hart cable setup?

Ordered as soon as I saw this come up… Although I hadn’t checked the length of the cable before ordering….While my seating position is right next to my headphone amp, I’d have preferred 2 metres for wiggle room. … edit.. cancelled my order. Purely on the length of cable. I actually got my measuring tape out …my seating position is literally next to my hifi headphone set-up . Whoever came up with that length of cable and thinks its acceptable is smoking something. NOBODY sits at a desk when using cables this expensive on a headphone that’s £1000 . Any sane person is on a chair / sofa. And like I said, I’m practically right next to mine.. Feedback…. More cable

Just wanted to take the time to say thanks for the feedback. When I designed the length for the cable I catered to the needs at my office table. With that said 1.2m is the perfect length for people sitting at their desk, especially with rolling chairs. I have a few six foot cables that catch on my rolling chair arms and even some nine feet cables that get rolled over with the wheels.
My question now is, what would be the perfect length for you? Let me know, we can easily add length for future versions of this cable.
As always, we don't subscribe to immeasurable differences in cable. Its balanced, its 1.2m, has low to no microphonics and a Neutrik 4 pin XLR. Nothing more nothing less.

I just noticed this cable isn't even 4 feet long, with an XLR, wtf?? I usually don't rest my head on my headphone amp at home to listen, and don't know of any DAPs that take a 4 pin XLR plug. You guys couldn't add a couple of more feet on this?? This ain't for portable use!

WTF? You can get multiple headphones for the price of this cable. Or a single pair of pretty good phones. You see where I'm going with this? Would you buy a set of car tires for $20,000 when a decent small car might be $16,000? Because that's exactly what you're doing when buying this sort of overpriced POS crap.
I think I saw someone mention Moon Audio. Same logic applies to them.

This cable is not the quality it should be for the price, and certainly the caliber of the HD800s. 5N silver plated copper of this gage is a 20 dollar cable on aliexpress. The only thing expensive about this is the Neutrik XLR- everything else is the lowest of low end generic. And yes- cable materials do affect sound. For them to say they don't subscribe to that and yet charge $200 on sale is basically saying they're using the cheapest materials and ripping you off. Bear in mind, I purchase custom cables all the time in the $60-120 range all with Neutrik XLR connectors and much better cable and hardwear than this, ans I can tell the difference. I even tried a Graphene infused cable and thought it killed the weight of the music on my Pioneer SE-Monitor5's- I stopped using it and ordered a different kind of cable with primarily copper and found it was returned to normal. Silver too will affect sound tone and quality, as well as higher grade copper, plating material, etc. None of this means you need to pay snake oil prices. This cable is a joke because you pay those prices without even believing in snake oil benefits.

FrogmeatProbably? Lol. I'm just saying that you could spend the same amount of money but get something a lot of people would prefer. I know a lot of people on this site are against the idea that you can hear a difference in cable *quality,* but I'm pretty sure most people agree that silver sounds different than copper, and you get to choose the material since there are different types of Dragon cables. I personally just wouldn't spend this much on a cable; I was mainly commenting on the steep pricetag.

I have gotten a few cables for my HD800s. Some fell apart. Some had loose connectors (as opposed to the tight connector that came with it.) I finally got a cable I liked. The one thing they had in common was the sound. Not one sounded different than the other.
I'm not saying some golden ears might not find the wire to make a difference, but most of us can go with an average cable and not miss a thing.
That said, $249 is not a bad price for a quality cable. It is the $600 plus that I find a rip-off.

Pricing aside, this is a great & needed thing. Shame its a month to late for myself.
