I first came across these when they were featured on John Darko's channel, so when they were made available here, I HAD to jump on them! Once I popped them in, I was really delighted! First off, the comfort and fit of the memory foam is way better than Apple's stock silicone because I always had an issue with the silicone ones slowly slipping out of my ears. These stay secure in my ear more than the Apple ones did and I can definitely be more active without fear of these ending up falling out of my ear and down a sewer drain. Second, the sound signature was altered, but for the better, because it turned buttery smooth while still retaining excellent detail! Many tracks had come alive with these foam tips on more-so than it's silicone counterparts.
At the time of writing this review, the Bulletz are unavailable. However, I must say, I'm very happy with my purchase and would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone looking to get these once they're made available on Drop again.
Yes I agree 100%! His insight and mindset when it comes to HiFi, Head-Fi, etc, is incredibly refreshing. I'm SO glad I discovered his channel. I've made a couple of purchases based on his reviews (more specifically the Dragonfly Red, Dragonfly Cobalt, and the Sennheiser HD 6XX) and I am HIGHLY SATISFIED! I'm also saving up to get some Campfires that he recommended.
Yesss his stuff is amazing. I've seen his assistant floating around, recording and whatnot at shows and relayed the good vibes. He's like an audiophile prophet, any time I quote or link his stuff many people immediately agree and simply can't argue. He's got that indisputable "audio scripture" I guess!
Yes, very true! And his American Made Series is absolutely brilliant! It's so awesome to see Jana go out to these facilities and give us a behind the scenes perspective of how the magic is made from all the companies that we've come to know and love. He's truly one of a kind!
Nobody beats Darko, but I think Stuart Charles of Home Studio Basics has a very no BS approach and I love his dark and cynical sense of humor, cause I have one too. So it’s good to get a different perspective. Steven Guttenberg the Audiophiliac, Passion for Sound, The Hans Beekhuyzen Channel, 13th Note Hifi reviews, HeadFi, are also excellent channels in my opinion.
I think I saw Guttenberg at a CanJam once but didn't know it was him so didn't go talk to him. Dang I should've! I know who he is now, but solid list of Darko style personalities! I'll be subscribing/adding them to my list of resources.
That is so cool! It would've been awesome if you met him. I really wish I could go to a CanJam but unfortunately I'm a dad of 3 so, budgetary constraints. There's a really cool panel discussion on YouTube, the panel is hosted by John Darko and Steve Guttenberg is one of the speakers along with reps from Audioquest, Tidal, and I think one more company. Although it is an older video, it was all about getting started in HiFi on a Budget: RMAF15: Affordability: How Low Can You Go? Check it out whenever you get a chance.
