I picked up a pair of MK3’s stock. The included cable locked in and would not release. Left right channels would drop out as well. I removed the cable and threw it away as it is shit like everyone describes. These adaptors fit and work perfect with my Mk3’s: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NBJW3T5/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 You can use your own cable of choice with this adaptor as well as flip it up and tuck it into the housing when the cable is removed. This should help save the jack in the long run if the adaptor stays in place.

EvshrugIt does have this problem per the link you have given. Its the locking jack that I found the issue not the coating.
" It does not, however, solve the jack itself but Fostex would not change it for us on this run. "
