Looking for a new pair mostly for delicate yet exiting post-rock music (have other headphones for other types). Any recommendation if I should get these or wait for dt770 pro?

eliraEmmm. Just imagine the relaxing Celtic music, but with some phases of medium-hard rock.. I think ddt770 pro is up for that. But it seems this is kind of that type also?

EmpereHenriI own the DT770 Pro 80's and Fostex T50RP mk3's .. both will be pretty good for this I'd guess... the fostex are ridiculously hard to drive and are less comfortable.. however I don't know how much the Dekoni ear pads improve this.. I have shure pads on my T50's as the the stock fostex pads are unbearable.. (to me).
sheesh... it is a hard call, but on the upside I don't think you'll be let down either way.. if you go with these and you want to make them a bit more comfortable I put the mr. speakers comfort strap on mine.. that does help.
I think I'd take the DT770's as they are so comfortable.. and are easier to drive (still need a amp however with the DT770's).
edit:: oh right duh.. on consideration the Dekoni/fostex thing is semi-open vs. closed (DT770's but due to the velour pads?? whatever.. they don't isolate as well as some closed cans). If you want to use these near others then the beyers might be a better choice.. Neither are especially good portable headphones as neither fold and they are both fairly bulky.

EmpereHenriThey are both competent but different headphones.
DT 770 (as you probably know by now) are pretty bright and fairly airy for closed headphones, while the Blue are almost the opposite with strong midbass and an overall warm signature. The Beyer would suit the delicate parts of a Riverdance song or something a bit better, but the Dekoni would have more emotion and gravitas for the harder rock segments, plus the Beyer treble irritates my ears after about 30 minutes so I personally would get the Blue anyway.
By now you probably have your DT 770 and made up your own mind about the treble (I know that headphone has a lot of fans), but the Blue would make a good complimentary headphone because it is quite different. Both headbands make my head sore after awhile (I like to play videogames for a few hours at a time, and my hair is thinning), using Dekoni’s Nuggets helps.

EvshrugThank you for your reply! Yeah, the 770 is somehow neutral. I am actually not used to that. Growing up listening to speakers and warm equipments made me think my ears were almost deaf or something 😂. Well, now at least I know how to at least try to adapt to a not-warm equipment. And fortunately I do have a warm tube amp to spice it up!

EmpereHenriI actually think the DT 770 is a bit cold, at least in the midrange, but it does have better extension than most TV or car speakers, that’s for sure! I will stand by what I said about the DT 770 and Blue being complimentary to each other: if you had both, they are so different that you would find positive aspects about each.
