So I'm looking at HD700 pads, and I'm wondering three things: 1) do they come with the clips to just attach to the headphones, 2) how do each color the sound (for the velour I hope not at all), and 3) do they have that pleat her stuff on the inside underside of the pad?

StarPupil1.) Yes, clips included 2.) Jokes aside about how all the pads are the same black color, the pads have a small effect on open backed headphones. We have a series of videos on our Facebook and Instagram called “Dekoni Describes” about each earpad and their sonic influence. Most popular seem to be the Fenestrated Sheepskin and Velour. 3.) No.

StarPupilThe Elite Velour HD 700 pads inspire some of our greatest design pride. The HD 700 “Baby HD 800” headphones had a fairly colored signature, with as many detractors as fans, particularly because of some of the steep dips and peaks in the upper midrange pitched notes. We managed to find a design with our Elite Velour that fills in some of the valleys and sounds less abrasive than stock, for a sound we are really pleased with and we believe would make this headphone much less polarizing. https://www.head-fi.org/threads/dekoni-starting-our-measurements-off-the-right-way.890234/

DekoniAudio Well, as someone who already implemented a fix for most of the high end harshness, these pads certainly have made using these less worrying. I bought mine used and have been searching for a replacement for the pads for a long time, preferably without dropping $90 or whatever on them. The clamping force on mine at least isn't enough to really squish the memory foam in, so it's just nice, light, great-sounding headphones.
