I could've missed it, but the gentleman representing Dekoni is not commenting on whether these pads alter the sound of the HD 6XX.

Icculus514Each type of pad makes different alterations to the sound. We've published the data for many of the pads, and those that visited @ RMAF got to witness first hand the sound testing. When swapping pads you can expect the following things in general.
Sheepskin- As it is a less porous material, there will be more isolation, and therefore the perception of more low frequency response. Fenestrated Sheepskin- With the cut holes, there is less isolation than sheepskin, HOWEVER the fenestration on the inner ring reduces reflections. Hybrid- this is a little of the best of all worlds. With the sheepskin exterior you have pretty good isolation, The velour is probably the MOST comfortable on the face of the ears, and the fenestration inside helps with the reflections. Velour- Many open back headphones have velour pads, as there is not much concern of bleed or loss of sound as the backs of the headphones are open to begin with. This will remain close to the original sound signature.
For those of you who own Dekoni pads for other headphones, you know we are equally focused on comfort and sound, and you should expect no less from this new drop.
