I have ATH-w5000. The stock pads on those are sheepskin. My issue with those are they have a tendency to pinch my ears when I wear glasses. I have tried tried pad swapping with ZMF eikon, universe, and autuer pads and gained comfort but lost the original sound signature.
From exploring multiple pads, I figured fixing my personal issue with the w5000 would require having a new pad that increases the height of the ear cavity while maintaining the same distance. The pads dekoni currently have on offer this drop seem to keep the distance but also maintain the same ear cavity; making the sheepskins here basically the same as stock w5000 pads.
My question is are the sheepskins on this drop equivalent to the stock w5000 pads or are there comforts gains while also maintaining the original sound? I imagine the foam would be the biggest difference between the two, but the pads are so thin to begin with that I'm not sure if a difference would be noticeable.
