Just to underscore my earlier opinion on why I think this pen is massively missing the mass-drop target market, there's a vote on just entitled "fountain pens". The winning pen was the Lamy Safari.
The reason to me is clear. As someone said earlier. Massdrop users are people looking for quality at a good price. Keyboard enthusiasts on a budget, midrange autiophiles, even these "EDC" knifes seem to be on the cheaper end.
A LAMY pen is well known for giving a good writing experience for a very good price, and they don't do it by trying to be cheap imitations of fancy pens, they go for an entirely different aesthetic to suit their materials and I personally love it. On top of that you can swap nibs out and get a great range of writing experiences from one pen.
I know that massdrop did a Pilot Metropolitan FP drop not long ago, but I didn't pay it much attention at the time because quite frankly I'd never heard of it. I've been out of the FP scene for a while now. The Lamy on the other hand has been in production for ages, has a huge reputation for being the usual favourite beginners pen, and considering the fact that it's winnning votes, I think It should get a look in.
