I guess due to the design this is meant to spin clockwise. Maybe a little more difficult for left-handed spinners. But then again the initial spin is only to get the top started, being able to blow on it to continue the spin is the main selling point of the top. Just an observation.
You are right, it does spin to the favor of a right handed individual. You can however lauch this top with no hands at all if you so choose. Just swiftly blow stright down at the table, quick sharp and straight. The top will take right off just from the power of your breath.
I would have to see that done to believe it. No offense.

The first time I spun a top by blowing on it i was also astounded, to be honest I wasn't sure I would be able to make one that could launch like that until after It was on the desk spinning in front of me. I still spin my Zephyr all the time. One of my favorites for sure, maybe even number one...
