Does anyone have experience with how gunky this ink is if allowed to sit in a pen for a few days? I know stormy grey has that rep and that some diamine inks (I'm looking at you, ancient copper) do as well: is this combo doomed to be an ink you don't dare look away from? How does it perform?

DvanaI have 3 - Shimmering Seas, Purple Pizzazz, and the green one (can't remember names). I have had no issue clogging my fountain pens at all. I find that if I agitate the pen (roll it around before writing) it works well. Addendum: I have had to prime the feed, and retract once as it gave little flow. My best bet is that the sparkly particles got a little stuck, and then by doing that the ink dislodged it. After that, no issues what so ever.

DvanaI tried to find out some more information about this, too. There's only one review on Goulet Pens with regard to "gunkiness" of the Shimmertastic inks: http://www.gouletpens.com/diamine-red-lustre-50ml-bottle/p/D9005
There are also reviews for other colors, but they're a little hard to filter through: http://www.gouletpens.com/search?query=shimmertastic&facetValueFilter=
It seems that only one person complained about the shimmer rubbing off too easily.
S. Jane has a lot of writing samples on one of her review posts: http://www.sjanemills.com/diamine-shimmertastic-3-ink-review-blue-lighting-shimmering-seas-blue-pearl/
Her only complaint seems to be that the inks need to be shaken more to get the glitter to be picked up by her dip pens.
General consensus seems to be don't use it in a fine point, because the glitter won't really show, but also there are some flow issues with the finer points.

DvanaI have three of these inks (Night Sky, Blue Pearl, and Magical Forest) and find that they're VERY, and unpredictably, pen-specific (as are the shimmer Herbins). The Diamines work perfectly in one cheapo Jinhao pen but not at all in another, for instance. The first pen starts instantly and writes beautifully, even with the ink in it for two weeks, while the second gave me the hardest start I've ever had, every single time — I had to force ink into the feed by lowering the piston on the converter and then shaking the pen, after which it wrote fine (until I capped it and picked it up a few hours later, when I had to repeat the process). You may need to try a bunch of pens until you find one that loves the ink, but after that you shouldn't have any problems with it.
These inks mix really well, BTW: make your own silvery teal by mixing Blue Pearl and Magical Forest!
