@bill_districtleather Hi there, I recently bought 2 straps from the recent drop, but they are both too small (they seem to be smaller than the previous straps I have from you).
Is there any chance I could swap them for longer ones?
May I ask for some tips of how to apply cream in this kind of straps? seems like the back side of it doesnt look like it need application of leather creams
Glen8I think this is how sizing is usually done with watch straps. Unfortunately, sizing will differ with each watch because the size of the case of the watch will affect it. I would not go with the shortest watch strap unless you are putting it it on a huge watch.

Glen8Great suggestion. I took part in the last drop and, after reading as much as I could, took a guess at the size to purchase. It turned out to be a big mistake as I bought a strap that was way too small.
This is really unfortunate since I really actually like the strap. Not sure what can be done now. :(
How sweat resistant are the shell cordovan straps? I read further down the thread that they are raw-backed and not lined with material on the skin side. Any unsightly marks after usage in warm weather? And if so do they last?
Are the straps in this drop still having the problem of 1mm width too wide? I have a Tag Heuer Aquaracer with 21mm lug width. Should I get 20mm or 21mm width ?
WindmasterThere were definitely some inconsistencies with the folded width of the straps' lug ends in previous drops. That can be attributed to the manual way we were thinning the leather at the fold and not always taking measurements of the resulting width. We've modified our production process to incorporate a machine for the thinning stage, which yields more consistent and accurate results. In addition to the process change, we'll also be more closely monitoring the final width than we had done previously.
All that is to say, if you need a 21mm strap, you should feel confident ordering that size from us :)
SomoHapiensThe short answer is, yes. The shell cordovan we use is more water and moisture resistant than the Chromexcel we use. I'm clarifying "we use" because not all shell cordovan and not all Chromexcel are the same. In addition to standard Chromexcel, Horween also makes Chromexcel with various waterproof / water resistant coatings. The specs can vary based on the application and customer requirements.
I bought one of their Tochigi leather straps, same design.

I've also bought several, maybe 8, Vulture straps, three leathers. The problem with the District design for me is that the straps have raw backs, while the Vulture straps are the foldover design where the back is just a continuation of the leather surface from the front. That makes them a bit thicker, but much more sweat resistant since the rear surface is smooth and can be treated with leather balm. I wear raw-backed leather NATOs, and I have to be more careful with them. Your sweatage may vary, and maybe this style is fine in the winter for many people.
Finally got my watch back from being serviced and tried to install this strap. Looks like I'm not the only one with the issue of the strap being too wide. The strap measures 18mm right up to the point that actually needs to fit between the lugs where it measures 1mm too wide at 19mm and does not fit. So now I have a useless $90 19mm strap.
