In the history of keycap sets, few styles have the dominance of Dolch. Originally featured on the portable computers created by Dolch Computer Systems in the 1990s and 2000s, these keycaps have a retro colorway that retains relevance today Read More

...Crap. I thought this ended this evening. I'm sure the ortho kit won't actually get made...dang it.
If anyone is actually reading this, please run more sets like this with the ortho kit in a more interesting colorway than Dolch. The drab colorway is the only reason I didn't buy this on day one the way I bought Fairlane. And all the Chinese GBs I've seen so far don't have the ortho kit...
Thank you for your consideration, if someone with the power to do anything about this sees it!
1) Where is the modifier colored pipe/backslash key? On the Modifier kit we can have the `~ key in modifier colors, but the pipe backslash key isn't there. Then on the Mod Plus kit we have a modifier colored `~ key (duplicate, since its already present on the Modifier kit) and another `~ (duplicate) key in the color of the alphas, which is already on the "Base" (alphas) kit. But the modifier colored pipe/backslash key isn't present in any kit.
2) On the Mod Plus kit we have a 2.00u SHIFT + 1.00Uu SHIFT included most likely for GK compatibility but perhaps the R4 1u DEL key was forgotten?
3) There is a 1.5u ALT on the Mod Plus kit, the other 1.5u ALT key there should probably be ALT as well so it can be used on the HHKB layout, instead of ALT GR which is not present in 1.25u in the first place, nor in the Modifiers kit, nor in the Mod plus kit. It seems that a secondary 1u SUPER key could be missing there as well.
4) Numpad kit has a R1 SHIFT that I don't expect anyone to use (never seen a keyboard with a R1 SHIFT as far as I can recall) but doesn't have a R1 PG DN (it's on Mod Plus kit though) which defeats any hope of compatibility with 1800. Looks like the R2 - and R3 + are there, but they don't make a very good compatibility without the R1 = key.
5) ISO UK kit has the ISO ENTER key but for some reason the 1.25u SHIFT isn't there, not even in the Modifier kit. I think forcing the UK customers to buy Base (alphas) + Modifiers Kit + UK Kit and then the Mod Plus kit just for a 1.25u SHIFT which should have been on the UK Kit instead is a bit unfair, no need for that extra cost.
drhigsbyNot sure why you think this makes zero sense, it makes at least a bit of sense. They probably priced it like this because they think that Ortho modifiers will sell less than TKL modifiers, which means less units will be bought and the kit gets costlier the lower MOQ is. I'd say $70 for an ortho set with double shot cherry profile is a pretty damn good bang for the buck, but I have no horse in this race. Hope this helps.
This set is too expensive. They need to make other all-encompasing kits, like an ANSI that has base, mod, mod plus, and numpad or JAN ANSI that has the same, except the JAN Base. A kit that has all of this for $90 or $95, because right now at this price, Drop and Domikey are asking us to drop $124-$129. For what I just mentioned, this is putting it head to head with GMK in terms of pricing, but slightly worse compatibility.
NecromongerThey also need to make more sets with shine-through legends ... Drop makes all their keyboards with LED backlighting, and almost no decent shine through keycaps ...
I think the pricing is wrong. it's too expensive.
GMK base full set is $110-120 but the same full set Dominkey is $134.
I don't want to buy all-in-one, domikey twisted my arm.
I don't want to pay a high price for the first product.
Cherry profile and an estimated ship date of December 24th? Shooting yourselves in the foot here Drop...
I really, really want this colorway in MT3 and I would be happy to wait a while for that.
