So these are colored version of what switch? Box Brown? Box Royal? We need information beyond "pink" to make a buying decision. Force curves? Also have we fixed the issue with Box switches breaking keycaps?
Void2258Finally got mine like a week ago. They feel very similar to royals but maybe ever so slightly more scratchy. I don't love the way they feel but they aren't bad.
It would be great if these were sent out to reviewers before appearing here. We have nothing to go on. This is particularly tricky with tactile switches as there is little agreement on what is tactile.
Replying to the wrong guy, but yeah. Your tactility is determined by spring weights, profile of the stem, leaf design, type of lubrication and even the stabilizer and/or type/weight of the keycap you are using.
HerpDerpenbergOh I meant to reply to you cause I was saying you weren’t out of line like he was saying but ended up shifting the response geared at the other guy
@Lati browns are not essential, but i would agree that they are considered the first thing that non-mechanical keyboard enthusiasts think of when someone says tactile.
for people that are new to mechanical keyboards coming in from the gaming peripherals route they will first learn about cherry mx switches and then they will learn about their different types being red=linear, blue=clicky and brown=tactile
but within the much ore purist mechanical keyboard community, we know that browns are perhaps one of the least tactile tactile-switches.
wildcard0The ALT and CTRL (amongst others) have a floating key design that give you a glimpse of the switches around the edge. Having keys like this would certainly lend character to such a board.
Box switches are made so you aren't supposed to lube them as I understand it. I also thought box switches were supposed to be exponentially more durable than normal mx mount? I have some gat yellows on the way in February so I am excited to give those a try! :D
smallbitI think they're designed or marketed that why but in reality I think the difference is negligible. I mean you aren't supposed to lube any switches at all but the difference is massive once you do. It's actually amazing and it's worth all the time spent. And have fun with your gat yellows! They were my favorite linears for the longest time!
JaysahSame. Except I think I’m March 24th. “Usps awaiting item”. Only been avaiable on other websites for months. You can get em instock from Drop. They enjoy puttin large penis in those who support gb.
