Made in Los Angeles with 11-ounce denim from Japan’s Kurabo Mill, these jeans come from a limited batch of only 100 pairs. Characterized by a lovely cast of gray, the denim has been washed, faded, and slightly distressed using ozone technology, hand sanding, and stone washing—all chemical-free. The result is a soft hand and a nice amount of stretch on a pair of jeans that’ll start out comfortable and wear well over time. Like everything Double Eleven makes, these come with the company’s promise: premium-quality clothing, priced affordably and produced with a focus on minimizing environmental impact.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice of size: 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, or 36. All sizes have a 33-inch inseam.
Founded in 1888, Kurabo is one of the few remaining cotton-spinning companies in Japan. The mill has been producing denim products for more than 40 years using proprietary technologies in spinning, dyeing, weaving, and finishing. After years of troubleshooting and development, Kurabo came up with its “MR” slub yarn, which recreates the non-geometric slub shape and thickness of natural vintage. It is very difficult to produce this naturally uneven yarn, since spinning equipment today specializes in producing even yarn. But with years of passionate research and the application of its advanced spinning technology, Kurabo has successfully reproduced the vintage-like appearance of the original slub yarns.
