I wonder if there are plans to offer the Yaxell Dragon, Red, and Fusion drops again with the newer additions such as the Rocker, Nakiri and boning knives. Anyone got any word?

What is your problem dude. Look at the timestamps before you start randomly abusing people. Honestly you are the worst affiliate of this website.
Saving a screenshot of your comment for later reposting. You just commented on a thread where the last post was 11 weeks ago and not even by me. My last post here was 16 weeks ago which you already put out a long-winded abusive comment for.
Shame on you.
CamboSorry, you are absolutely right. My fault. Be well

Well damn, had I known Massdrop would suddenly go into the japanese knives market this often, I wouldn't have bought the first pair.
If you would like to ask questions specifically about the Dragon line, feel free to email me at depstein@apogeeculinary.com I am the designer, and also the man who started shun cutlery.
I'm not sure what you mean by reforming the edge. If you mean realigning it, the a regular honing steel is the way To go. If you are looking to resharpen, the stones are better, but only if you know what you are doing. Otherwise we will do free sharpening for life.

Deaomega1214Ah, my apologies with the confusion. I suppose I meant to ask if the edges on these knives would need to be sharpened or honed more frequently in one case than the other. Also, I did not realize that you offer lifetime sharpening! That's a fantastic point to consider. Though I may not end up buying these through this drop, I did note that you have products through Amazon, so I very well may end up purchasing a set on there.

Interesting steel. I'd be interested in playing around with/sharpening the knives to understand their edge sharpening/retention capabilities. But that profile is hideous. I guess if you are a classically trained Western chef then the profile might work, but today's more diverse cutting methods precludes such a belly. For this price, better options available.
If anyone got these and needs them sharpened, reach out to me and let me check one out/sharpen it for you. All my sharpening is performed by hand with Japanese water stones, with the exclusion of the very lowest grits (for edge re-profiling/minor chip removal for which I use diamond stones).
