Product Description
A common request among members of the Audiophile Community, this 4-pin XLR-to-2.5mm TRRS adapter is the easiest way to connect 2.5mm balanced cables to the balanced outputs on some of your favorite amplifiers. It works with the Massdrop x MEE audio 2-pin balanced cable set and all other balanced cables currently sold on Drop, and makes a great complement to the Massdrop x Alex Cavalli Liquid Carbon X amp and the Massdrop x THX AAA™ linear amp Read More

Will this work with a new set of HD800s and the included 4.4mm TRRS balanced cable?

Bad contact, very disappointed. Need to push 2.5mm inward to have sound.

And for comparison, just today I bought used mini-ATX motherboard from ASUS with the processor and 8GB RAM... For 25 euro (28 bucks). I strongly believe there is much more craftsmanship put into that system than into this connector. Even this nice looking.

No disagreement there. That said, if you want XLR4 to TRRS without having an ugly wonky cable dangling, this is about as good of a price as you get. At least in the US, no clue about across the big pond.

i got the 2.5mm ver in the last drop. i saw quite a few requests to offer 4.4mm ver. but disappointingly, this round still no 4.4mm. please offer 4.4mm ver too! i saw similar products available in aliexpress and i doubt they're from the same oem. there seems no reason not offering 4.4mm alternative

Still no 4.4mm version... Why not? @Drop @Drop+Audiophile Do you not see the potential market for it in this comment section?

I just bought the Venture Electronics version linked in some posts below. $10 more than this one, but looks to be the same manufacturer. https://www.veclan.com/engappliance_sel_one?eng_ApplianceVo.eac_id=36

Good! But at this point, i would always like to see the materials inside which transport sound, probably simple brass and gold plated as it is yellow :) You know what i mean, i think simply put the exact details in there is the best thing to do.

if I remember correctly: tip is L+, next ring is R+, next ring is L-, final ring is R-. I made my own TRRS to XLR cable adapter and it works great. Drops' probably uses copper or solid copper to bridge the connections. Quality of them is questionable though.

Thank you! Is that the pin out you used for your adapter, too?
