Product Description
Based on MiTo’s NASA-Inspired Godspeed keycap set, these Alpha Industries jackets pair premium fabric with a Drop-exclusive look that honors the Apollo 11 lunar launch. Get yours in Apollo Blue or Replica Navy.
A Jacket Worthy of the Godspeed Look

Inspired by the iconic colorway on the original Apollo 11 Lunar Module Cockpit, MiTo’s Godspeed keycap set became an instant classic in 2016. Now we’re bringing that legendary look to your wardrobe, on a garment that also has a legacy built in the skies: the Alpha Industries L-2B flight jacket, originally created for the US Air Force in the 1950s. Here in your choice of Apollo Blue or Replica Navy, the Godspeed Flight Jacket features a premium peached cotton and nylon blend that emulates the softness and durability of jackets made in NASA’s Gemini and Apollo eras. Sporting removable MiTo-designed patches, a NASA logo patch, and a leather patch with the Apollo program motto “Tough and Competent,” this jacket looks and feels like something out of the golden age of space flight. Each garment is equipped with a cream tape double-front zipper, a navy tape zippered pocket and a reversible interior in Ares Orange.

Note: At checkout, choose the Apollo Blue or Replica Navy jacket.

A Closer Look at the L-2B Jacket

Introduced in the early 1950s for the US Air Force, and eventually adopted by the Navy and other branches of the armed forces, this lightweight bomber is well suited for spring and fall days when the temperature falls above 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Made with a nylon shell and lining, it features the classic rib-knit collar, waistband, and cuffs. Along with two snap-closure hand pockets, there are a pair of interior pockets and a zippered utility pocket on the sleeve with a red “Remove before flight” tag. Four patches complete the look: one reading “Tough and Competent” (from NASA flight director Gene Krant’z famous 1967 speech following the Apollo 1 disaster), one with the NASA Meatball logo, and two designed by MiTo to commemorate the Godspeed keycap set.

Alpha Industries: Approved by the US Military

You don’t earn a manufacturing contract with the US military without a solid pedigree and a top-notch product. For Alpha Industries, being awarded military contracts is par for the course. Since its founding in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1959, the company has pioneered jacket after jacket for the US armed forces—most notable of them all being the M-65 field coat, which has been in production for over half a century. No matter what the company crafts, it does so with precision and attention to detail. Over its 61-year history, Alpha Industries has grown into a household name recognized internationally for its military apparel.
