The Massdrop ALT High-Profile is just like the original ALT, but now it comes with a tall CNC-aluminum case that covers the switches. Machined at a 6-degree angle, the case is ergonomically crafted for a natural feel Read More
I couldn't be happier with this board. It's solid, has a good weight, and a smooth finish that seems very durable so far. The hotswap is a nice feature as well. I can solder, but it's a bonus not having to. I know the stabs are garbage, but if you're buying a barebones board, who cares. Just buy better stabs.
I already have low profile ALT, but this High prof is much much much better than low. I like this heavy weight. Actually It's lighter than other expensive alu keyboard including brass weight, but it look good and competitive.
I bought a black one and I am now thinking about buying gray more. I really recommend this High profile, Don’t waste your money on Low profile.
p.s. Do not waste time to use the stock stabilizers. throw it away.
Yes, except you want to mod the stabs so they dont rattle as much and/or want to lube the switches too. Then you would need appropriate Lube/dielectric grease, a brush, etc.
seems like i'm a bit late to this conversation but you definitely want to get new stabs. the stock ALT's stabs are so bad it's almost required to just throw them out and get new good ones for like 25, 35 bucks? i dont know anyway new stabs are a great investment
it's pretty high but you can always get a wrist rest to prop up and cushion your wrists. just be mindful that you buy the right size wrist rest to match your keyboard size
