My ALT stopped working sometimes like it got powered down. If LED were on, they'd turn off and keystrokes would stop registering. Unplugging and then re-plugging worked. I read somewhere that it could be because of insufficient power so I moved it to a "powered" USB port on my Dell monitor. It seems to have worked for while but in last few days, it has happened again, twice. Has anyone else seen this? And is there a way to somehow debug this issue?
I used the online configuration tool to re-map a couple of keys and re-flashed. That's the only difference from stock.
Try lowering the brightness of the LEDs. It takes a lot of power to run all the LEDs at full brightness. When the USB port can’t provide enough power, it can abruptly shut off the connection.
Thanks! I hadn't thought of that. I mostly have LEDs turned off anyway; I'll try disabling them by default. Oh well, back to the configurator. :|
