anyone know any good white key cap sets for this keyboard? im getting the silver/grey aluminum framed keyboard. i’m looking for white key caps to match my setup at a fair price. I would also be interested in light grey key caps that are similar or identical to the ones already on the keyboard. I love hyperx's white pudding keycaps, but they of course do not have a 1.75 right shift.
also looking for good custom usb c cables with aviator connector. lots are out of stock at the moment.
any help would be greatly appreciated!
For clarification, the "silver one" is actually a medium gray. It can look silver under certain lighting conditions due to the reflectivity of the anodized aluminum. You can look at people's photos in the PHOTOS tab to get an idea of what it looks like in person.
do you have any recommendations for white keycaps? I am struggling to find a 1.75 right shift key that is white. I really like the grey aluminum plate, but don't like the dark grey and black keycaps. Can you recommend any specific keycap sets that would have white keycaps with a 1.75 right shift as well? I have searched online for hours and cannot find anything.
do you also know any custom usbc cable companies in the US not out of stock rn?
Psst. We're working on an all-white shinethrough set in OEM profile. Available soon.
just curious, will it be available before the this drop ends or will I have to wait for the next drops to happen to possibly see it? This is super exciting! Will the oem profile fit with this keyboard?
But if it is going to be awhile before those come out, can you recommend any keycaps?
Thank you so much for the helpful info!
They will not be available before this pre-order ends. They will be available as a separate item though, so you can always pick them up later. The keycap profile is simply referencing the geometry of the keycaps (surface shape, height, sculpt, etc.), but the set will include all the keycaps needed for the ALT's layout.
Here's an old photo, but still relevant photo:
your help is greatly appreciated!
I am really loving the thought of white keycaps for the alt keyboard. Are you able to tell me the general release date? I am just wondering if they will be out within the month, a couple of months, or more than 4 months. I just want to set a reminder to buy them and would like to know a very general release date so I can be one of the first to pick them up!
You seem like a very knowledgeable person, and I am also looking for a custom usb c cable. I have been all over the web looking for ones that have a decent variety of options that aren't out of stock. I was just curious if you knew of any.
Thank you so much for the helpful info!
Within a couple months, if everything goes according to plan.
I don't follow the custom cable scene closely, but a quick search brings up quite a few vendors. We've also sold some third-party cables on our site before. You can search for "custom cable" to see previous offerings. If you do go the custom cable route to pair with the ALT, be sure that it's at least USB 3.0 to ensure that it can supply enough power to the keyboard for both functionality (i.e. typing) and LED illumination. If the cable isn't able to supply enough power, the keyboard will shut off the LEDs to maintain functionality or not function at all. Also know that additional length added by the presence of a coil introduces further attenuation that may affect performance/functionality if the keyboard does not receive enough power. This is all assuming your source supplies enough power to begin with.
I was just curious if you can use the hyperx white pudding keycaps on this keyboard? I know that the right shift will have to stay, but will all the other keys fit in this keyboard?
Yes, everything but the R Shift is compatible. You won't have row-correct keys on the right most column if you follow the ALT's default layout though.
why is the ship date so far back if the drop is done in 10 days? mine is back into july.
Also, if i want to have a console command key, the tilde key, is that possible on this keyboard?
The ship date is far back because it takes time to procure materials, manufacture the goods, and ship it to our warehouse.
And no, you won't get a tilde keycap with this keyboard. It's mapped to the Esc key in the Fn layer by default, but you won't have a legend-correct keycap if you make it tilde in the default layer.
do you know what size the space bar is? just want to make sure i know the size before possibly replacing certain keycaps on this board.
I got an alt off of amazon and, while in the middle of a valorant game, the keyboard decided to disconnect. No cables had become unplugged. I unplugged the cables and re-plugged them back in like 4 times, but the keyboard would not turn on. I had to run and get my old keyboard to play with for the rest of the game.
As a side note, I have flashed this keyboard with custom function key commands.
After finishing the match with my old keyboard, I unplugged it and plugged my alt back in. It worked just fine. I was wondering if this was a known alt problem or if there is anything I can do to troubleshoot the problem.
What's the keyboard plugged into? Does it exhibit the same issue when used with a different port or computer? Different cable(s)? I've only seen one other case of a keyboard shutting down during gameplay and I speculate that it could be related to power supply to the keyboard while the computer is under load.
