1) For the LOVE of everybody, Massdrop, apparently the EEPROM is built into the motherboard of the Alt/CTRL but not enabled. There appears to be a hack here but appears to potentially brick the board if done wrongly. EEPROM allows for lighting/brightness to be saved. I PAID $200 USD for this board. My $49 TECWARE PHANTOM BUDGET BOARD can SAVE lighting and brightness settings after powered off. THIS $200 USD BOARD DOES NOT. What the heck is going on? Even Corsair's K95 Platinum at similar cost does REMEMBER the LAST USED LIGHTING AND BRIGHTNESS SETTING. I read that the board's lighting after switching effects & changing speed + brightness is stored in the RAM of the keyboard (or computer). https://drop.com/buy/drop-ctrl-mechanical-keyboard/talk/2550350 2) Drop Configurator. Please update it with more LIGHTING EFFECTS options & QMK features like tap dance into the configurator. Speaking of lighting again, please do something with the configurator and allow us to save the last lighting setting/effect we do on the board! So what if you supply us a card in the box detailing FN+ASD ZXC keys to change lighting and speed if IT DOES NOT GET SAVED AND I HAVE TO RE SET UP THE THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN WHENEVER I SHUT DOWN MY PC? 3) QMK Configurator. When is the next update down the pipeline? Hope its after the shift's release. Drop, let's face it. Not all keyboard enthusiasts knows how to code. To some, keymap.c, rules.mk, led_matrix are so foreign, they bought a keyboard that they know others call powerful due to QMK but 80% of features all locked behind coding your own damn firmware. And I have seen some feedback on massdrop's reviews and comments wondering why the hell their customised lighting effect, brightness and speed are not saved once keyboard loses power. "Powerful keyboard"? Not until the board's configurator is improved first.... Sorry to have to caps Lock. But powerful as it seems, the most silly omission is the EEPROM. Like, you guys don't compete with the big name brands like Corsair or Razer, but at least let us have some creature comforts like our own lighting personalisation SAVED if we FN+ Key to customise it! Frustrating but true, $200 isn't too worth it for the Alt or the CTRL if basic funtions it cannot do such as remembering the damn previous lighting setting/brightness after power off.

it's 2020. You know, I can't code. I'm a noob at C++. I just hope it comes around the time when the DROP Shift comes out. I'm voicing frustrations that are probably shared with hundreds of owners who are keyboard enthusiasts but got to set their keyboard up like some basic board that does not reflect the price tag of USD $200. Build quality means nothing if its functionally the same as my Tecware Phantom for $49.

MCYXI'm legit getting rid of this keyboard for this reason. Every few months I spend hours trying to configure it and customize and there's no clear way to do simply do what I want to do. I've seen some tutorials, but none for mac. I definitely wasted money. Just bought a different keyboard and I'm hoping to off load this thing as soon as possible. I'm selling it!!! It is NOT worth the money. It's just pretty. Anyone who wants to buy, let me know.
