I have an ATLP60X. It is my third turntable, the last being a vintage Marantz 6100. If it means anything I’m 20 years old, but I started mainly listening to records (yes, that’s what I refer to them as, as you all should lol) when I turned 17. I got the lp60x Because I wanted something new and simple that was fully automatic. I almost exclusively listen to used records, and I don’t really buy anything new on LP. Especially digitally recorded, as I see no point. I’m very loving with my records, but I’m no snob, and I know their limitations but also the fact they aren’t as delicate as some people will make you believe. But my lp60x just feels cheap in certain areas, mainly construction, and I want a solid, new player. I don’t want to spend any more than this, and the only upgrade I’d really be open to getting is upgrading the stylus. Would this be a good upgrade for me? I want a bump in “sound quality”, but I really just want a well built table that feels good when I drop and lift the stylus. One that’s fun to stare at the needle as it drags across the record. Would a fluance model be better? I like the Drop brand and prefer the look of this turntable.
