Are these going to be shipped out prior to the product run ending? I paid for it three weeks ago and I really don't want to wait another month to get it.

Icy109Yeah I paid for mine in full a month ago, and hearing I have to wait till December convinced me to cancel this order. How the fuck keeps people's money for two months like that? That's just a stupid ass way of doing things. I get its usually 1-2 weeks for a run on drops, but 2 damn months? Fuck that.

karl1569Well, the thing is that this is one of those products that's oriented towards a smaller market. Not many people listen to vinyl and on top of that the higher price point also prevents a lot more people within the community from spending the money. I guess the window for preorder is made to be as large as possible to maximize on the amount of people deciding to buy the product. If you think this is long tho try artisan keycaps for mechanical keyboards. There are people who wait a literal YEAR to get the product they paid for.

Icy109Thanks for your reply. I do get that, and I was obviously a bit agitated about it in my previous post. But for me, personally, I am diving into the market for my first one, and I see a lot of other options that I can pick up for the same price that will be delivered next week. And while I get Vinyl is a small market, I just don't get why they can't do a few different shipping dates, so we aren't stuck waiting that long. With that said, now that the drop ends in 17 days, would you recommend just finding something off another site, or patiently waiting for this guy to ship?

karl1569That would depend on your personal preference because you might not like how any of the other ones look or something so in the end it's up to you. However, you did wait this long so it might be worth it to just stick it out to make your time worth the wait

Icy109Allow me to rephrase the question: As a Newbie in Vinyl (but not audiophile), is this a good first person's kit that one should grab, with the expectation that one could upgrade and expand as needed, or, as an audiophile, should I invest in a higher prices unit? I can afford to spend 600-700 on a turntable, BUT, if I could spend 350, plus 100 on upgrades, and get the same effect, I find that worth the wait. Basically I'm ready to pay for one now, but I'd rather be overall happy with my choice in January, when its all said and done, vs my choices now, which will really only matter for a month.

karl1569Well, I can't recommend it based on sound as I actually am waiting on this preorder for mine but overall it seems like a solid piece of equipment. I did read that people were thinking that it's might be a bit pricey for the specs but the specs aren't bad by any means and you have to remember that a lot of people who are into hifi are very particular about their sound and very critical of anything they don't like. If this is your first time listening to vinyl in general it might be a better idea to go for a cheaper turntable to see if you enjoy the hobby to begin with (the Audio-Technica AT-LP60X is always a great beginner's choice) because you also have to consider that the hobby will burn a hole in your wallet. After all, you have to have good cables, speakers/headphones, vinyl, and turntable to really get the full experience of what makes vinyl so great. But, if you are sure that you want to take the plunge and invest in the hobby I don't think that this turntable would be a bad first choice considering you have the money and you're not looking for anything super high fidelity. It'll be at least a nice first real introduction!
