It is cheaper than the preorder price as of the date of this post. I’m pretty disappointed by the pricing decision taken by Drop in this regard. Especially due to the delays in shipping and the lack of communications in between the shipping date and the preorder closing date. Even the spare leather band (which I wouldn’t recommend due to the colour) is cheaper than the preorder price... Save for spending the Drop reward cash I got from the preorder I wouldn’t consider supporting Drop.com in the future.

JTam, I understand you are upset by the pricing drop, but it is really unfair of you to change your review based on that. The reviews are to help other members of the community, and its not helpful to take your complaint with Drop out in that way. I personally bought a leather jacket a few weeks ago that would have been almost $200 cheaper on black Friday. I kicked myself for not waiting, but thats how it goes sometimes, thats just life.

If you look at the uploaded photos, you will notice that the metal bracelet does not fit the lugs of the case, there is a noticable gap, you can see through it. This is a very big quality issue.
My Seiko is about the same to be honest. Then again, this isn’t a Seiko.

So which minute hand length do we get if we order the black one, the long one shown in the top pics, or the shorter one shown in the pics midway down the page, and on the silver case one?

Does anyone know the lug to lug distance on this one.

It will continue to dim over time. In 12 years it will be half as bright.

I'm no expert here, but based on what I know the half life of tritium is approx. 12 years. Does that mean the brightness will be reduced over time? I would expect to use a $1000 watch for at least 30 years or so.

The page says a maximum of 50 years, so I'm guessing the tritium would die before that.

I would assume the brightness to dim over time. Never owned a tritium watch, but the tritium night sights on my firearms are good for 10 years, after which they may need to be replaced. Perhaps the expectation is to have the tritium lume replaced when the watch is sent in for 10 year servicing?

Just called DHL eCommerce... they are saying that I should only expect to receive my watch by late November/early December... Massively disappointed... I was not expecting next day shipping, but for such a slow shipping method to be used for a watch of this value, and especially after all the delays the watch had already suffered... @leopadron @JaleesaG Can Drop:
  1. Provide estimated shipping times at checkout
  2. Provide faster shipping options (I only see one option on checkout, with no indication of estimated shipping times)
My experience with international shipping is that the longer the item remains in transit, the higher chance of it arriving damaged... So I'm hoping it arrives unscathed. Again, terribly disappointed.

Also, DHL is pretty much the worst internal shipping option. Mail, or any other courier, would be preferable.

I have an issue where my watch stops ticking at sometime during the day / overnight until I adjust the time slightly. Is this known, or is my watch defective?

Thanks for replying, the second hand action is smooth and there is no collision. It will just randomly stop until I unscrew the crown change the time a bit maybe once or twice. Difficult to figure out when it happens. This has happened 5 times so far.

It might be that the watch wasn't fully wound.. Could be that when you set the time you're moving the watch, which will wind it. For an ETA 2824-2 equipped watch such as this, manually wind the watch about 55 full turns to fully wind the watch, then it should run for around 38-40 hours without stopping. This is a common scenario if you're new to automatic movements.
