After spending some time typing with the MT3 profile, it has really grown on me. The scooped tops give your fingers a nice place to perch and the initial "sandy" texture has either worn off or I've become used to it. The sound is a nice thock rather than the higher pitched clack, aside from the 1.75u keys (capslock and right shift) that are a little higher pitched and slightly hollow sounding. The color is more off white or bone than your average BoW set, but it works really well with my white ID80v2. I didn't think that the slightly deeper scoop to the F&J keys would be noticable on the home row, but it is just enough to make a difference.
I may have to spring for the media icons for the Function row. I would also just caution that the multi-colored accent mod kit doesn't include a capslock or backspace so keep that in mind when ordering. A few people on reddit were looking for extras, having ordered just accent mods and alphas to fill in a 60% board.
Great dye sub set, New profile for me but really enjoying it. Caps are solid and legends are clean, sound good like sa abs slightly higher pitch bottom out. The color combo with the clear case is exactly what I wanted, a little light bleed through the caps and bright enough with South facing leds and the glow tactiles.
I am about to ask maybe the dumbest question.
But i noticed in the accent modifiers, there are many keys missing in comparison to the regular modifier, like does this mean, people usually buy both of those? Im asking because i would think i should only need to get the alphas and accent modifiers, BUT the accent ones are missing a 7u spacebar?
Could someone please educate me on this?
Yes, the alphas+modifier kit is supposed to complete “most” 65%+ keyboards (like the average person should be fine with alphas and modifiers to complete their build) and the accent kit is an addition to accent your build, not necessarily be all that you need.
Some board, layout, person etc will always be left out with kitting and will need to purchase more than they need just to get a couple caps to finish a build. It’s just how it is unfortunately. If 7u was in there, something else would be left out and someone would be asking the same question about split bars or w/e lol.
Not a dumb question though. Anyone outside the keeb community would look at it like we’re all insane. Buying a $52 kit or w/e just for a single keycap? Yep, but such is the way of the keeb.
@drop why are all the comments to @bibliophile being hidden?
@biip (the actual desinger of the set) commented to clarify but had thier comment hidden as well... why?
A 60% layout like the one shown in the first image can be covered with just the Alphas kit and Modifiers kit.
The keyboard in that render does also make use of the Icono kit for four icon novelties, used in the top left and right corners, and the 1u keys on the bottom row.
