After spending some time typing with the MT3 profile, it has really grown on me. The scooped tops give your fingers a nice place to perch and the initial "sandy" texture has either worn off or I've become used to it. The sound is a nice thock rather than the higher pitched clack, aside from the 1.75u keys (capslock and right shift) that are a little higher pitched and slightly hollow sounding. The color is more off white or bone than your average BoW set, but it works really well with my white ID80v2. I didn't think that the slightly deeper scoop to the F&J keys would be noticable on the home row, but it is just enough to make a difference.
I may have to spring for the media icons for the Function row. I would also just caution that the multi-colored accent mod kit doesn't include a capslock or backspace so keep that in mind when ordering. A few people on reddit were looking for extras, having ordered just accent mods and alphas to fill in a 60% board.
Great dye sub set, New profile for me but really enjoying it. Caps are solid and legends are clean, sound good like sa abs slightly higher pitch bottom out. The color combo with the clear case is exactly what I wanted, a little light bleed through the caps and bright enough with South facing leds and the glow tactiles.
A friend recommended these to me, and despite the steep cost I went for them: the alphas, modifiers, and accent modifiers. I really like them, they feel great, and I would still recommend them. The accent modifiers look great by themselves and with RGB, they allow some light through whereas the solid gray ones don't really let any light through – part of me wishes they were all backlit, but no matter. These are great if you're looking for keycaps to use with macOS! If you do not mind paying a little extra for the accents and like the color, I say go for it. My friend went with just the gray caps and likes them well enough.
These caps are amazingly nice to type on - my first set of custom keycaps and I really cant see myself buying any more - they're that good.
Just make sure you're willing to spend 150$ and have a bunch of leftover caps (for a 75%) the kits are not great
When I first got into this hobby I knew I wanted to have a keyboard with a retro aesthetic. After finding Drop and this keycap set I knew it was the one. It looks and feels great, the legends are crisp and the texture feels nice after getting used to it. This profile may not be for everyone though. If you have only used shorter keycaps it will take some time to get used to. If you want a vintage-style keycap set and like or want to try taller keycap profiles, this is perfect.
The printing is slightly misaligned (not visible unless you really look) on a few keys, but that's expected from dye-sub
I love the profile (this is my second MT3 set, and i've ordered a third!) and i love the chalky texture on the keys
Can't wait for the 2048 midnight set to arrive
