Meh. I don't really feel this fits any particular needs. If you want to listen to music you're probably better off saving up a bit more and either going for a nice pair of headphones (plenty here at Drop) or get some nicer speakers. On the other hand if you are not really that interested in musicality and just want better youtube/netflix/whatever sound out of your computer, you can probably go for something much cheaper than this. Of course if these end up sounding amazing that would be different, but this just feels like a kind of middle ground that will end up underwhelming for Audiophiles and over-expensive for basic everyday multimedia usage. Also "Magnetically attached grills (sold separately)" ... so you won't be getting the full package for 129$... how much will those cost pray ? PS: Why no picture of the backside ? That's doesn't inspire confidence.

sixelannifWell I must admit it might fit one particular need, at least for me: having somewhat good stereo speakers below screens mainly double monitors or even an big ultrawide.

mastertheifI will admit they look pretty cool, but I feel a sound bar could yield very similar results (and will generally include sub-woofers and a grill). I'm not saying these are useless, just that I don't feel these are offering any particular advantage over other already existing tried and proven products. So basically I don't understand why Drop felt the need to create a custom product instead of just negotiating a discount or modifying an existing product. This doesn't feel very exciting to me, but once again at the end of the day it will all depend on how good they actually sound.

sixelannifI thought most soundbars aren't meant to be listened to at a distance you'd typically have a computer desk setup with. Maybe if you've got it on the wall above or below and have some space between the desk and the wall but if we're just talking about placing it under the monitor, not all soundbars would work as well as it's meant to. There may be some out there specific to PC setups but most I see assume you're sitting a distance away from it.
