Fun Experience
First time I've bought anything from Drop and can say it was pretty fun. Felt a lot like a birthday or Christmas as a kid. I bought the Gold Curated Audiophile Box. The contents came in two packages and arrived two days after it shipped. The smaller package contained the SMSL SH-8 which I'll be hooking up to my PC. The second box had Koss KPH30i headphones, HyperGear KIKstand, The Ridge Wallet, and the Blunt XS Metro umbrella. Everything that I received will be used. I have zero complaints about this. Everything was worth just over the cost of the drop itself. With the next drop coming up later this month, I'll definitely consider it again depending on the categories. I'd recommend going with the Gold or above box and curating a certain category.

Honestly it’s by far the nicest umbrella I’ve ever had. I literally take it out of the closet to show house guests when I’m explaining Drop products to them.

Solid bounty box
Solid bounty box with actually good items in it. I didn't get lucky with an upgraded box but the items were as described and worth more total than what I paid. I would get another one if the items in it were as good as the ones offered in this box.

It was really fun playing!
I purchased the gold un-curated bounty box. I got my box a bit later than most people but the excitement of waiting and finally getting to open the box was unreal! Thank you everyone for posting! In my bounty box I received: Spyderco Dragonfly 2 Massdrop Titanium Blue AAA Flashlight Massdrop ALT Keyboard Corbett Mini Bluetooth Speaker Mee X6 Bluetooth headphones Most of the items I received are not anything I would purchase individually. I never really had an interest in EDC, I have several speakers/headphones, and a pretty nice keyboard. But that's not point of the bounty box. If I wanted to get something specific I would have purchased the item separately. At the end I am really glad I bought the box, it was fun and I will find a use for all the items I received. I will probably buy another. I recommend others to buy the gold bounty box and curating a category, then at least you will get a rare item you will like.

What a surprise!! Forgot I ordered it!
The box was a nice surprise. I forgot I was going to get it. Audiophile preference, got some good stuff! Love my Topping DX3 Pro headphone DAC amp/ Bluetooth device! It is pretty awesome with noticeable difference in sound quality. Got some headphones they are nice too. Got a little Spydreco dragonfly.. great little blade. A nice wallet, but I could have done without. An amazing little 5000ma powerbank. With wireless charging, and apple and android connectivity. Really good box overall. I was surprised by the quality of the box. No complaints, minus not really needing the wallet. Thanks Drop after reading others reviews I see I was lucky.. now very happy with my box. I would take the gamble again.

Xray0420Nobody has yet mentioned (and maybe this novelty is just cool to me) that the power bank has a single-cable dual lightning AND micro USB cable. Like.. you can plug the same thing into EITHER connector! When I saw that I thought it was some kind of sorcery....

Not very good
I ordered a box before these specific boxes started dropping. First, my order got hung in the Drop system and never shipped. I had to contact support to advised, "WTF BRAH?!", to get it moving again. I paid to get a tech only box, I got a box of no tech, and nothing worth having. So not only was it late, they no longer had the items I paid extra to get. Instead of just telling me this, they tossed everything left at me and called it good. I did get a full refund, no restocking charge, but I wanted items I could use, not 3 weeks of time spent to get nothing. Probably not going to try these again.

It is what it is, but as a snobby bastid I expected more
(EDIT, but all original content remains intact below the line:) TLDR: these aren’t for everybody - for those with discerning tastes and high hopes: you’re likely to be somewhat disappointed. For a majority of folks, however - there’s a lot of great stuff in here you might not find otherwise. This is a good introduction to the categories of products Drop has to offer - and without question: you’re going to at least get your money’s worth. ————————- I received my Bounty Box today - I purchased the $250 Uncurated Gold Edition knowing I was going to get at least one rare item I would be happy with (and one worth around 75% of the price I paid) - the list of rare items was solid, and was the reason I had no reservations about going with the Gold box over the Silver (despite having been underwhelmed by the Mega Mystery Box - I figured Drop would see this as an opportunity to do a little customer retention reconnaissance and really blow loyal customers out of the water). However, as I opened the box - I wound up having to double check the product list against my packing slip and the products I received to make sure that there wasn't a mistake made and that I was sent a "Rare upgrade" Silver box (3 common and 1 rare) and not a questionable-if-it-even-made-the 2,2,1 (2 common, 2 uncommon, 1 rare) product mix of a standard Gold box ... Let's go through it - I'd love to hear folks' thoughts: less on the actual value of its contents (without question, there is well over $300 in sticker price here), and more on the spirit / principal of the item category breakdown given a questionable substitution and another questionably "lame uncommon" ... Given the 25% chance of an upgrade to 2 rare items - I feel like the guy who got an undeniable downgrade as a result of the "*In exceptional circumstances we reserve the right to make substitutions of items on this list for similar or like products" clause (personally, I would have favored giving a higher value/rarity item rather than a lower one in those "exceptional" cases). Anyways, let's start at the top!!! 1) [Outdoors] Massdrop x Gavko Thresher - Big Eye Aqua - Rare I'm not sure if Drop read my mind or what, but I was really hoping my rare item would be an Aqua MD x Gavko Thresher. I wouldn't normally spend $190-210 on this knife, but I have been pining over it for months now and wouldn't complain if it appeared in my Bounty Box (and truthfully, if it hadn't - I likely would have caved and picked one up from r/Knife_Swap for $20-30 less in new or like-new condition). Well, guess what? Aqua Thresher in the box... and the big eye version (a $210 knife): score. As a purist, I thought I would have poo-poo'd anything but the plain Jane scales - but I was pleasantly surprised that the design is not as intrusive on the eyes as it seems in photos - and it actually contributes positively to the ergonomics. Add to that what I already knew of this guy: S35VN steel blade (excellent quality steel, and the bar by which I consider a knife to no longer be a budget knife), Milled Ti frame and backspacer (why make knives out of anything else?), manufactured by WE knives (say what you want about knives made in China, WE makes some of the best mid-range folders out there - dare I say better than 75% of the larger production companies' knives made of the same grade materials here in the states?). Well done, Drop. This (and the $62.50 plus shipping I would have been out had I done so: [BBox Return Policy],) saved me from returning the box. Let's move on to the common items before we get to the "good" (read: bad) stuff. 2) [Outdoors] Petzl e+Lite - 50-Lumen Headlamp - Common While there are 4-5 common outdoors items I would have liked more, Petzl makes great climbing products - so this thing can't be terrible (can it?). Reviews elsewhere on the web rate it high, and I have generally found it for no less than $30 (no idea what Drop sold these for, guessing $20-25?). My only concern with this little guy is that it's powered by 2 CR2032 batteries, which will mean it is either weak, or burns through batteries fast. I did the math based on the #s on the Petzl box: an 8GB 4vCPU cloud VM on DigitalOcean costs less in operating time than this thing would on standard brightness (and that's with buying cheap 2032 batteries in bulk). Sure, I can't find where I dropped my keys with the VM - but this is a flashlight strapped to your head and would satisfy only a very specific type of geek more than the VM. I'll give it to my 5-year old and hope she loses/breaks it before I spend more on batteries than I could have buying something a little sexier or battery-cost-minded. 3) [Audiophile] Koss KPH30i - On ear headphones with inline mic and remote - Common For decades, Koss has made excellent bang-for-your-buck headphones right here in the states - and at $20 + Shipping from Drop right now, you can't afford NOT to have this headset kicking around in your backpack, as a spare set for when you're not sitting in your media room with your Schiit stack and $1000 open-back cans pumping Weird Al, or as the smart traveler's won't-cry-if-I-leave-em-on-the-plane upgrade to the cheap crap they sell you for $10 on the red eye to Vegas. This is a brand-new model from Koss this year, and I am not at all surprised by the glowing reviews or quantities sold. It's products like this that made me start shopping MassDrop a few years back and continue to check the rebranded Drop site daily for carefully curated selections of quality products. Slow clap on this one - and utmost respect to Koss, inventors of the stereo headset in Milwaukee, Wisconsin more than 60 years ago. This is where my praises end, and reality sets in ... Remember, at the base Gold Box, we should now be looking at 2 Uncommon items. Let's start with the one that was advertised as an uncommon item - even though it is essentially 2 of a common item of the same category (and in either rarity classification: fairly lame sauce) 4) [EDC] Seki Edge - 2-piece grooming set - Uncommon First off, I have no idea who carries nail clippers with them every day (let alone 2 separate sizes for toes and fingers). If you do, leave me a comment, and tell me why in plus-perfect hell you would feel the need to do so. Perhaps the inherent multi-function nature of what I consider an EDC item has faded away over the years, who knows - I cut my nails (both toes and fingers) with the scissors found on ~80% of Victorinox's "Swiss army" knives: You get more precision and control than something with a fixed curve and a lever can ever do - and what else can I use these things for other than scalloping a piece of paper that I can't do with a Swiss army knife? Here's what I can't stand about this set: they call it a "luxury grooming kit" (no, it is literally 2 nail clippers in a leather zip-around case)... In fact, the company doesn't mention luxury when buying the clippers themselves individually (please fact-check me on this: the kit (ss-3101) contains the fingernail clippers ss-106 and the toenail clippers ss-107)... Therefore, Seki has the balls to charge $35 more for the set and call it "luxury" solely on the inclusion of the case than if I bought them separately without the case. I guess only the Bently-driving, Cristal drinking, Hollywood elite are able to carry both clippers in a single branded case, leaving the rest of us pleebs to have the two potentially be carried in something more pedestrian, if even in a case at all. This makes me question the praises I had made of Drop about careful curation when concluding my thoughts on the previous item of a lower rarity classification. I would have been ok if I got the one-pack as a common item - but given how badly you screwed up on #5, this is lame sauce indeed... Are you guys biting your nails yet to see WTF happened with the last item, or what? (And if you are, can I interest you in a set of 2 different sizes of nail clippers in a luxury case?) Well, get ready to be ... well, who knows what you people will think. For all I know, you're all fuming mad to learn that there are other (arguably far superior) ways to cut nails. 5) [Gaming/Tech] Mionix Castor - Mouse for Gamers / Artists - Uncommon(?!?!?!) This is where I go from "Not a bad haul" to "Really, Drop, you think this is fair?". Why? Well, this mouse is actually not listed in the product list. I assume this is one of those "exceptional circumstances" mentioned in the asterix-indicated fine-print CYA clause found on the bottom of the product list, which has been substituted in place of the Mionix Naos QG gaming mouse that IS on the list. You would think, a company that prides itself on community and caring for their customers would say, hmm - this is an exceptional circumstance - and not consider how folks might take having a product swapped for one with an undeniably lower feature set. "Oh, yeah, sorry... we ran out of those Tesla Model 3s, but here's a 1997 Toyota Corolla in the same color. I bet your luxury grooming kit would look MUCH better on the dashboard of this one anyways". Man, does the lack of specificity in words such as "similar" and "like" really make you appreciate being kicked in the nuts almost as much as being kicked a little something extra for being such a good customer all these years. Naos: 7 buttons, 12,000 dpi, Built-in heart-rate-monitor, QSR (What? Who cares, I didn't get one), 2-zone adjustable LEDs (unclear if they are neo-pixel-like or a just a few different colors - again, didn't get one, don't care), palm-grip-optimized ergonomic shape - Castor: 6 buttons, 5,000 dpi, One RGB LED (no biometric sensors, QSR, or cool analytics dashboard-y thing), not-so-ergonomic shape. Basically, the only things "similar" or "like" between these two are the color, the brand, and the fact that they're both mice (see previous, somewhat exaggerated to make a point, analogy between the Tesla and the Toyota). Oh, have I mentioned that I can buy 2 of the Castor for the price of a Naos on Amazon? Yeah, Mionix has them both listed on their own site at the same price of $63 - - but there's likely a good reason why the Naos is sold out while the Castor isn't (which may also explain Drop's assumedly unresearched substitution of the Castor for the now sold out Naos). Honestly, I was looking for a nice, high DPI wired mouse - the Naos could have been it - the Castor definitely is not. Regardless, even if you were unaware of the massive difference in feature set or desirability of the product you were unable to procure - the customer-centric (aka the "right") thing to do would be to do something to ensure your customer(s) would be ultimately happy with the decision(s) you make in these exceptional circumstances, in order to avoid public fallout / embarrassment / shaming / first-world-whining as I bring to you now. I probably will never be able to fully enjoy the Castor, knowing the Naos is out there - somewhere .... mocking me (reading more reviews on product quality doesn't inspire a ton of faith in anything from Mionix, to tell you the truth). So, what say you, good people of the Drop Community? Personally, if you take the Thresher out of the picture and call the rest of the products a $100 Silver box, I'd be livid (as I could have gone out and bought the items individually for less than $100 elsewhere - except for that (sarcastic) SWEET luxury nail clipper case). What would you do if you were making decisions over at Drop and this packing list came across your desk for review of an exceptional circumstance? Personally, I would have tossed the mouse (or the clippers, as much as I know I'm gonna love 'em), given the box one of the 1-in-4 chances of being upgraded to 2 rare items and been confident that whoever was on the other end would have been pretty pumped and back on the product review page singing praises rather than what we have: a far-less-than-happy customer, who despite having spent over $3175 with (Mass)Drop since April, 2015 (I went through my order history and added it up, yes) - is here leaving you an unsavory review wondering if Drip is no longer able to do business by the core values that brought so many of us here in the first place. ... And, what say you, Drop?

Dear Kevin I read everything. I still think as a company, if you run out of an item listed, you should replace it with something of equal or more value not less. It is not the customer fault that the item has ran out. It can happen for sure but the replacement must garantee at least the same exact monetary value. In this exact case was not but nearly half value of the retail price of the item not in stock. The company should bear responsability for an item listed but not in stock not the customer.

Disappointing
Using goggle and Amazon to price the items in my box, I did get JUST over $100 worth of stuff. The extra $10 for curation is an added waste of money. Do not do it. I got a flashlight that is worthless because it takes several min to "charge the capacitor", a pair of headphones found on the rack of any CVS store and solar lantern that I gave to my nephews to play with. The most expensive item was an outdated laptop hub with multiple ports. I waited 7 weeks for this box. Frankly, I could have used the money to finger paint a dunce cap to wear on my head and been more satisfied with the end result.

I paid 260$ for the Gaming & Tech Curation and received a box worth 275$. I have gotten many mystery boxes before for other hobbies, and they usually returned products totaling a lot more than the purchase price. Considering how little the difference was between what I paid and the products I received, I could of just purchased the items I wanted. I received the lower end product in all the categories except the Bluetooth speaker. This is the problem with reviews for a drop that is different for every person. If I had received the keyboard or other nicer items, that would drastically change my perception of the mystery box. I was just one of the unlucky people that got the standard box without any upgraded items. I am hoping to sell or re-gift the speaker, light, and key chain to make back some of the losses of this drop.

Luck of the draw, i didnt draw well
Got the sennheiser jubilee Spyderco dragonfly The rest is of no use or poor quality Got gaming glasses... knockaround sunglasses.... and qt5 iem. I paid 250 plus the extra audiophile option. The 2 best items are great but dont add up to 260 and the rest I'm sorry to say it pretty bad. Basically throw away trash, i wouldn't be so butt hurt if the rest was useful or decent but that's what happens when you play the game. Sometimes you win and sometimes you dont. Luckily i got fairly close to breaking even Edit: After listening to the Jubilee, yes 1 hour isn't long or fair, I can tell RIGHT off the bat this is not for me. This immediately sounds inferior to everything I own even the he-4xx. The bass is terrible on bass heavy tracks, gets muddy, and ruins detail. The highs and lows roll off way too fast. Feel cheaper than my Koss. This is a let down on every front. This drop was a huge let down, changed to 1 star from 2. The knife was the only decent thing in the box and I was planning to gift it... I'm gifting or giving away for free everything else. Maybe I can sell the Jubilee on craigslist for 5-10 dollars less than msrp

Very happy with my box.
I received my tracking number yesterday and my box came today. UPS easily beats Smartpost. I paid the extra $10 for my gold box as I was hoping to get a high end knife. I did by receiving an aqua big eye Thresher. I already have a sand big eye and a grey pellagic. No worries though as this one of my favorite knives and was happy to receive it in a new color. Love the Thresher. It is probably my favorite of the Massdrop collaborations with the possible exception of the Mordak button lock. I was also lucky enough to receive a rare upgrade and got a second knife, the Swisstool Spirit. I have not opened it yet but understand it is a great multi-tool. So I think with just the knives I already received the value of what I paid for my bounty box. The other items I received are mostly unknown to me but seem pretty decent. They are the Blunt Metro umbrella(very nice), the QT5 earbuds and a Kikstand. The packaging was also better than the usual item tossed in a padded envelope. A nice shoebox type package with black crumpled paper. Be warned though, I saw that it left black dust on my Thresher box and not sure if it might stain clothing, etc..
