Regarding the pocket clips, I think I will be switching the gold plated with matte black clip from either Amazon or Countycomm (I know Countycomm sells them as an accessory for the Maratac AAA flashlight - which appears to be the same flashlight as this, but not available in brass, though available in titanium as I have one).

PenfoldI have AAA Maratacs in Ti, Cu, and brass. CountyComm just doesn't always keep everything in stock. But this is $40 or $50 less than full retail at CountyComm if I recall correctly, and my chance to try a different, warmer, emitter. I'm really excited about that. For the record, my ti version had almost gritty feeling threads on the head, so a brass head on a Ti body and vice versa made for 2 very smiother turning lights. Perhaps too smooth as I've had them cut in by themselves before...may be normal wear, , due to the silicone diffuser cap I keep on my lights catching in my pocket to facilitate its rotation, or a poor choice of mixed metals for a swap. The tail click on will be a very welcom change, along with the L-M-H setup as well. Overall, except for a black clip swap, and the addition of a glowing diffuser, I think this may be my new favorite light for regular pocket carry. Without going back to the description, I think they mentioned a larger lanyard hole, but if not, a piece of #95 single strand paracord from a hobby shop works great in the small holes. Just heat and twist taper a point on it to get it started. Works great for me on the little Maratac holes. Expecting a real winner if all goes according to plan. I had to get 2 at this price. I know someone who would appreciate and use a handy light like these gratefully. Fingers crossed they don't run into any issues during production or shipping. At the price, I'll be patient.

Ryan28801Countycomm had the Ti on sale (it came with a diffuser, but since this is clipped to a pocket on my work bag, i left the diffuser off so I did not lose it) earlier this month when I snagged it. It was, I thought, a good deal. Paid ~$37. for the Ti version.
I agree that the price is significantly less than Countycomm's price. I seem to be acquiring flashlights at a furious rate.

PenfoldIndeed, I have so many I'm starting to give away some of my less favored models. My parents got a cheapo Cree 1 AA model that they are AMAZED with. I offered something better, but they love that one. You caught the Ti at about the same price I did, it was ( I think) the original Ti release at an intro sale price. Good deal in my opinion! I fortunately had ordered a couple of extra black clips, which when carried regularly, starts exposing the silver underneath, and some extra glowing diffusers, after losing the one it came with. I now have a tight black rubber o-ring on top of the diffuser, slid to the top of where it flares out at the base, and it's been in place for months now. A friend had his diffuser fall off in his pocket a few times, and adopted my idea, neither of us have come close to losing one, or even falling off when taking out of a pocket since the o-rings, should work for one clipped to a bag as well I would think. ;-)

Ryan28801The same o-ring the Ti version had spares with? That is a good idea. I had not thought to use an o-ring to stick the diffuser on. I will give it a try.
I got the AAA Ti Rev 4. I don't know if this is the original release of the AAA Ti or not.

PenfoldActually using a ring from an 150 piece mixed box of o-rings I got at Harbor Freight for under $5. A much stouter ring than the spare included, about sits even with the top level of the flare out at the diffuser base. Lots of sizes I've found useful, some don't apply to anything I own, but handy to have a box around for the price. The size of different revisions of the AAA Models seem to be the same I think, but my Ti is a Rev4 as well for the record.
