We are excited to bring the EDC Drop community this updated version on the Cache EDC Valet Display. Much is the same, same price - same layout - we elevated the valet with black powder coated trim, a locking mechanism. Due to community feedback, we are also offering a nesting drawer as an add-on; one needs not stop at one, because you can add as many drawers as you wish.

john.webbHey, for those of us, like me :) , who purchased the ‘first version‘ of this wonderful Cache EDC Valet Display a while back, is there an option to purchase only a drawer or two? It would certainly be a tremendous sign of two way loyalty. That way, I can just keep participating in all the upcoming EDC Drops, and have a cool place to store them :)

john.webbI have to say I'm sincerely disappointed in this revision. It's exactly the same product wit a flimsy lock slapped onto it, which I personally find less desirable than the Massdrop Cache I already own. I was planning to buy the upgraded Drop cache and have been anxiously awaiting this only to be let down. The lock will keep no thieves out; if somebody wants to steal a knife from me they will take the whole cache or pick the flimsy thing. The new drawers are cool and definitely welcome, but I really don't need one. Maybe I'll pick one up but probably not for the price and my lack of a need for it. I was really hoping we would see some more spots for knives in this revision - myself and many other knife enthusiasts have been clamoring for this from the start. Imagine my suprise to see you left the trays and internals the same as v1!
Good luck to you with this version of the Cache. I will not be picking one up in favor of the superior Massdrop Cache.

Omniseedeh. I wanna hear that the 'D' pivot also has a D milling so it locks in place and that it isn't just being secured by a bunch of threadlocker.... but if I hear that, i'm probably interested in picking one up.

Fuck knives--I want more room for my spanners and socket wrenches!
And I like the lock, but it should be a hasp for a pick-proof, high security padlock (there's always some wanker trying to steal my damn 5/16th attachment).
And where am I supposed to put my bottle jack and torque wrenches anyway?!

Its a pressed board box covered in pleather. You can tell all about the quality by looking at the cheap stamped metal key covered in black PAINT. Production costs are what, like $8 per unit? You should be ashamed.

john.webbHooray, a "drawer". Do you draw it out? Er, no, you don't, you just lift it out. So, not a drawer, just a layer. A cheap layer at a not cheap price. It does nest, but the key aspect of a drawer is that you draw it out, otherwise you may as well just call every container a drawer.

EricInMarylandYou see cases like this for $30, identical quality, on sites like Alibaba. The drawer is a nesting tray, not a drawer. Stay silent and be thought a fool rather than opening your mouth and confirming it.

john.webbIt would be great if the removable knife draw was split into two pieces at the edge of the 3rd and 4th compartment, allowing you to choose to have one/both or neither, still opting to use one of the storage squares underneath the knife tray. I have no need or interest in that many devoted knife slots. Cheers.
Edit: I now see the product originally had this, and has been removed because... ? What a step backwards.
And no glass for this pricepoint? Oof.
