Shiny and HEAVY!
I was blown away by the quality AND weight of the piece. It's definitely heavier than the stock weight that the board comes with. It is very highly polished and extremely reflective. I chose the Chroma Mirror PVD version to go with my Synthwave/Retrowave style build.

you know why you're buying this
you want the added weight and the slick-factor of the colorway. I bought to go with an ombre keycap set that matches the transition colors of this plate. yeah it's $50 but until (IF) there are third-party options, it's what's on the table

Good, but expensive
Just in terms of the product, I love it. It is really heavy and very pretty, and easy to install into the keyboard. Definitely a good upgrade from the aluminum one the keyboard ships with. Only issue is the price. $50 dollars for this is a lot, but still would buy it because, in my opinion, it contributes a lot to the overall quality.

The brass is very pretty for something no one will see
I like the weight and the polish on the brass is quite nice. On the other hand, it'll be totally invisible 99% of the time. But when someone does ask what the bottom of your fancy keyboard looks like, you'll be ready. To attach it you'll need to unscrew the top and then take out the innards from the top to the bottom of the case, then you'll have access to the necessary screws. Reassemble in reverse order.

Chroma is a a pretty rainbow
Adds additional heft and is beautifully finished. The instructions warn that the extra weight will tend to result in the top cover separating when you are handling your keyboard unless you learn to grasp the bottom of the keyboard firmly when moving it. My only regret is that it's a pity you don't get to admire it more often since it's on the underside.

Adds plenty of heft
The CSTM being a plastic board, weight is one of its weaknesses. Love how simple it is to install the brass weight. It looks classy and clean and does exactly what it is suppose to do. Makes the board feel more premium.

Chroma Mirror
Nice upgrade in the weight department from the default silver option. IMO the overall appearance looks great. This keyboard is so modular, I had the keyboard torn down and re installed in no more than 15 minutes.

Black SS PVD Adds 295 Grams
For you other size queens, the black SS PVD weight weighed in at 447 grams, 295 more than the standard aluminum weight of 152 grams. Final build with silver aluminum top and low profile keycaps puts this at a respectable 1773 grams. More than a full plastic prebuilt, but nothing compared to hefty full aluminum customs. The weight has a nice finish and is a finger print magnet, but that’s pretty standard for mirror finish weights. Looks good, adds a small amount of heft. Worth it if you like em meaty.

Heavy Metal or Death Metal?
I have two of these. The first one arrived in fairly innocuous packaging and I installed it without issue. That keyboard is now a more respectable weight. The second one arrived today. Except this time, it came with the card pictured, below.

...so I'm guessing their was some 'feedback' from the field after the first batch shipped. ;) I'm guessing that later versions of the CSTM80 (or plates; not sure where the magnets are) may feature more powerful magnets or some kind of a locking mechanism. Anyway, the plate is fine if you're just looking to add weight. Personally, I prefer the brass or black versions for aesthetics. Otherwise, if you're into rainbows (and a potentially broken toe) go for this!

InwardsNo these were always planned in the packaging. I think your initial order must have missed the insert. Sadly we cannot make the magnets stronger as neodymium are the strongest magnets you can get. Thus the warning to give people a heads up you can't shake the board up and down like you can sans aftermarket weight.
YanboWuI personally haven't had any issues, but I can see why it's included from a CYA point of view. And I suppose making the magnets even more powerful may cause some issues getting the plastic covers off without breaking something, anyway.
